[opensuse] Apache does not work

I have recently installed openSuSE 13.2 on my new notebook (an Asus F555LF-XO334D, but I don't think that matters). My installation also includes apache2 and php5. Now, having enabled and started apache2 with YaST's Service Manager, the only response I get when invoking http://localhost/ in a browser is a page that says: ****************************************************************** Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 403r localhost Apache ****************************************************************** But Apache's DocumentRoot is world-wide readable: drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 May 3 21:19 /srv/www/htdocs/ I exclude the hypothesis that Apache uses a different DocumentRoot since the entry DocumentRoot "/srv/www/htdocs" occurs in all these three configuration files: /etc/apache2/default-server.conf, /etc/apache2/default-vhost.conf and /etc/apache2/default-vhost-ssl.conf What can I do to make Apache work correctly? Linux has a ping command and ping6 for ipv6. Likewise there's traceroute and traceroute6. [opensuse] problem with journalctl

Hello, I have a crash problem with a particular application, so I wanted to look at the kernel logs. then I noticed journalctl do not works as expected. LANG=US ; journalctl (wait then press end and wait again) stops at Feb 5: Feb 05 14:11:07 linux-us26 sddm[1114]: Auth: sddm-helper crashed (exit code 15) no idea if the fact it's a crash have a relation with the present problem. LANG=US ; journalctl -b 0 gives May 3, present boot logs. but LANG=US ; journalctl -b -1 gives: Feb 05 00:17:50 linux-us26 systemd-journal[445]: Journal stopped again Feb 5, but not same hour. [opensuse] Is Firefox 46 not important for SuSE users? Or OpenSSL?

Hello. They have Firefox 46.0.1 by now out, and OpenSuSE still doesnt have the official ways updates to 46.0 even. Also OpenSSL fixes that have been publicly announced for a week or two to be coming out yesterday, as it did, was released for some enterprise Suse but apparently OpenSuSE folks are considered third class citizens? Debian and others have same day releases as these upstream products release to the public and more. Is the Suse distro working so differently from others? [opensuse] problem? curious message in logs

Hello, I'm working on webgl application. At the same moment (but is it related?) I notice hard crashes (switch off necessary!). This seems to happen when Firefox is launched and pointed to the webgl page. Same page in Konqueror do not seems to have the problem. I'm not sure because the crash is not immediate, but happen after "some" time. happened at least 10 times last day... With the two browsers, I notice in the logs a line: "org.kde.KScreen[1942]: kscreen: Primary output changed from KScreen::Output(Id: 97 , Name: "DVI-I-1" ) ( "DVI-I-1" ) to KScreen::Output(Id: 97 , Name: "DVI-I-1" ) ( "DVI-I-1" ) " repeated several times. I have this line when working and also as last line before crash I use a rather old NVidia graphix card with Nouveau. [opensuse] Mozilla update kills dovecot

Hi Folks, I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a misconfiguration on my part, but a "zypper up" yesterday killed SSL support in dovecot. The public self-signed dovecot.pem cert in /var/lib/ca-certificates/pem was deleted. The day/date of all the certs in there are the same as the zypper dup. I'm guessing that a Mozilla update cleared out all the old ones and reloaded new ones. dovecot.pem was flushed down the toilet. The private cert in /etc/ssl/private was untouched. Restoring the public pem from backup fixed the problem. Bug or my being a knucklehead? I don't use TW, but I do have an infrequently used test machine that has TW installed. Yesterday I ran a 'dup' and noticed several errors like this one: Additional rpm output: Updating /etc/sysconfig/packagekit-background ... The unit files have no [Install] section. They are not meant to be enabled using systemctl. [opensuse] OT: how to secure firefox passwords on android?

Hi, sorry for this OT but I don't find any advice in other places and as here are so many bright brains I dare to ask... I wanted to save some passwords (as for my webmail) in firefox on my android phone. To secure it I've put a master password. But this is a pure joke. Except when I really turn off the phone and on again, I am asked for that master password, but from then, firefox connects with my webmail without ever asking me again. So actually that master password serves for nothing. Does anybody know how I can secure my firefox passwords, so that in case somebody steals my phone he has no access to my mail accounts? (I do not do banking etc. on the phone, so I need it only for firefox. The password apps I found simply put a password for those who don't know how to use a file explorer :-( ) thanks for hints!
