[opensuse] Notice OpenCascade replaced with OCE

OpenCascade has long been a source of problems, frustration. So a while back we switched to OCE (OpenCascade Community Edition), which is a drop-in replacement but is much more robust and easier to package. OpenCascade is currently broken, and there are no plans to fix it since those problems don't exist in OCE. All of the packages that have been using OpenCascade have been switched to OCE, or are automatically pulling in OCE through provides. OCE lives in the "oce" package in the Science repository, which is linked to several other repositories (including Education). Currently the last (non-home repository) place where OpenCascade exists is the Education repository. There are still several home projects linking to it. I am removing OpenCascade from Education. What OS do you use? 13.2, Leap, TW? What desktop do you use? What networkmanagerapplet or application do you use? KDE, Gnome nm-applet, wicket? At a moment I lost my Wifi connection ´Networks disconnected´ Trying to connect again in connection editor was impossible because the security paragraph did not show up ´WPA PSK´ as I need. [opensuse] vsftpd and SSL failure

Hello - I am trying to configure the vsftpd server to use SSL on an openSuSE 42.1 (Leap) and running into troubles. I have the basic server running just fine, no firewall issues or anything like that. Who knows what the "INVALIDARGUMENT" is, my examination of log files reveal nothing, nor do GOOGLE searches. (I did find others having this problem as well, but no solutions.) [opensuse] Garbage at the end of my emails

I've noticed that I am getting garbage at the end of my opensuse mailing list messages. This doesn't happen with other lists, so I am not 100% sure it is my mail client doing this, on the mail server's end, or a combination of the two. Note, I use a Mac for most of my office type duties (email, reading documentation, etc...), but use openSUSE on my laptop and SLES 12 on my home office cloud. [opensuse] system tray removal?

Whenever I use zypper for anything these days, on all 3 of my leap installations, I get this message: --------- The following application is going to be REMOVED: "System Tray" --------- It doesn't actually ever remove the system tray, but it always says it is going to. [opensuse] opensuse 13.2: EXT4 and TRIM support on a luks encrypted lvm

I will have in a few weeks to care for a machine that has a SSD with EXT4 and setup with LVM and LUKS. The question is: is trim with fstrim supported? [opensuse] MTP file access, Android 6.0 and Linux

Unfortunately Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) has dropped USB mass storage mode for accessing the SD card. The remaining USB modes are: MTP, PTP, RNDIS, Audio Source, MIDI and charge only. I am searching a working USB solution for file transfer. MTP works on Windows. But I am mostly unsuccessful with MTP clients on openSUSE (Tumbleweed). The FUSE tools "mtpfs" and "simple-mtpfs" were both unable to mount my Android 6.0 smart-phone external SD card. KDE (KIO) shows the smart-phone but is unable to access data. The only working solution on my PC is Nautilus from Gnome. But even with Nautilus I was unable to transfer a directory with some GB data without errors. So currently the only stable solution is to take out the SD card from smart-phone and to transfer files directly on PC. Any ideas? [opensuse] Leap 42.1 - upgrade hard drive

my apologies if this has been documented previously, but does anyone have a howto to upgrade to a larger hard drive using clonezilla with leap 42.1? I have been using the disk to disk clone, and every time I try it, it fails to boot on the new drive.
