[opensuse] Selecting flash-player pulls in way too many unwanted packages in 13.2/x64

I recently installed 13.2/x64 & decided to not install Flashplayer. Unfortunately, there were some sites that still just aren't usable without it, so I went into Software management and selected it. This is a list of what was auto added by yast: amarok google-droid-fonts gmaplyer( I have MPlayer installed) gnumetric gnumetric-lang gstreamer-fluendo-mp3 libgda-5_0-4 libdga-5_0-4-lang libdga-5_0-bdb libdga-ui-5_0-4 libdga-ui-5_0-plugins popler-data rng-tools I was able to taboo this and flashplayer installed & runs just fine. Is there any reason these are auto-selected? Is there any auditing of what packages are considered dependencies for others? I have TDE-r14 installed as my desktop. In the past /dev has not had real files in it, but today I happened to notice some large-ish files sitting in /dev/shm. [opensuse] intermittent repos (13.2)

Annoyingly this morning I have to retry many times (10, 15 times) before I can proceed with installation of some of the patches from 13.2 repos. It is as if the repos go offline every few minutes and stay a few seconds to a minute offline, then come back again and the patch download can proceed. [opensuse] kde3: 13.1 KSIRC broken

I just replaced 11.4 with 13.1. Now KSIRC instead of auto-connecting properly displays this in the output window: [03:48:20] Your perl interpreter is *really* screwed up: the getopts.pl library is not [03:48:20] even there! Have you even bothered to run 'install'? Is it possible some perl package didn't get installed that KSIRC depends on? I have 47 as wc result from package query for perl. What "install" could it be referring to? ******** All the above I sent to KDE3 list a week ago, with no response. I stabbed at it since, installing both gnu-getopt and perl-Getopt-Mixed without effect. [opensuse] Suse-3.2 on Alienware 17 laptop

I am trying to run Suse-3.2 on my Alienware-17 laptop. I have attached all of the machine specs. (First laptop I saw with 2TB of disk, 32GB of ram and fast 4 core processor). When I boot the DVD and tell it to load the install program it proceed to the point where 3 green dots appear on the screen and hangs. Is there a way to run the installer in test mode so that I can see what is going on? Has anybody installed Suse on an Alienware laptop? Is this graphics chip set supported? Any assistance would be appreciated. I did run the system with their default UEFI boot system. But the DVD loaded so I though I should at least get to the point where it asks me questions.
