[opensuse] Yast broken

Hi, Last weekend I upgraded my daughter's laptop from OS12.3 to OS13.2. After some problems with the video (solved) I can't get the Yast-gui to work. Running from the command-line I get this : /sbin/yast2: regel 440: 15837 Segmentatiefout $y2ccbin $Y2UI_ARGS "$@" With the ncurses version of yast (I think) I forced to re-install all yast2-modules, but that didn't help. [opensuse] Problem now with SCREEN EDGES

A series of (delta) updates via zypper this morning has fouled up an option in SCREEN EDGES on which I heavily rely on a daily basis. Until this morning, I could push the cursor into the top-left corner of the screen and all the open applications in other virtual desktops would appear - and I would select the one I wanted to work on. Using this Screen Edges facility I was able to switch quickly from one application to another. However, the patches through zypper this morning put a stop to this nice way of doing things - and it is a damn PITA. Anybody know of a way of getting this feature back - some entry in a some control file, perhaps? If you do please let me know. (The patches this morning had something to do with xorg-something-or- other but there were some others whose names I did not manage to catch.) [opensuse] 13.2: firefox 34 and 35 don't restore windows/tabs from previous session

I use the 'restore tabs and windows' setting of firefox. When I upgraded my 13.2 system, it updated ff to ff-35. When I started firefox, all I got was a single window and my home page. I checked the sessionstore files and all were intact and readable. I reverted back to ff-34 and had the same issue. I reverted back to ff-33 and my windows and tabs came back at startup. It would appear that firefox has removed this 'startup' feature, but left all the configuration intact. There's a 'Session Manager' add-on which may replace this functionality which I'm going to try. I suspect though I need to install it and save my current session before upgrading. [opensuse] systemd crashing 13.1 32bit

Anyone experiencing systemd crashes? I beleive there was an update recently. [opensuse] 12.3 => 13.1 migration, partition oddities

I upgraded from 12.3 to 13.1 using the "zypper dup" route. And there was probably an earlier upgrade to 12.3. [opensuse] Sizing ext4 partitions

One of the major reasons I use ReiserFS rather than ext-series for my file systems is the problem that that ext-series have inherited from 1982-era UNIX V6 and V7 file systems, that of pre-alloacting a certain but fixed amount of space for inodes and a certain but fixed amount of space for data. The ratio can be varied but its set there at mkfs time. Now there are, I realise options. The file /etc/mke2fs.conf has entries for common ratios. What I'm wondering is this: If I know the overall characteristics of the files in the file system can I set the ratios sensibly? For example, if my camera is producing 24MB RAW images accompanied by 5K .xmp files from Darktable and 5MB JPEGs .. Say 30MB per image, what should my ratio be? Another example might be music files, .ogg files of between 3MB and 5MB. Though realistically music is going to vary a lot more than photgrpahs. 13.2 I installed grive from the unstable one click repos. grive -a worked but now grive just sits there with: Reading local directories all day. We'd like to use grive tools too but it doesn't seem to be available for opensuse. The Fedora built opensuse rpm doesn't work as dependencies are not fulfilled. Has anyone got it working? Hi Opensuse, Do you know how to auto-mount the luks crypted root automatially without the passphrase? Just like another distributions, I tried: 1. Add the rd.luks.key into the grub, not work 2. Edit the /etc/crypttab add /keyfile:LABEL=KEYDISK, not work Do you know how I can fetch the goal in opensuse? There is more metadata and what amounts to 'phase' information in RAW files.
