Hello: I have a usb flash disk with one partition. I have formatted this partition in openSUSE 12.2 using mkfs.vfat. The formatted partition could be mounted in openSUSE and in Windows XP, but my media player could not see the partition (gave error message) and Mac OSX could not mount it either. I have reformatted the partition in the Mac (I can't remember the application's name) and now the disk is usable in my media player along with Mac OSX, openSUSE and Windows. My question: what is missing in openSUSE mkfs.vfat that the formatted partition is not functional everywhere? How could I make fat32 formatted partition in openSUSE which is usable in my media player and is mountable in Mac OSX? Hi Folks. I've been having some issues with google earth not being able to start when launched from the desktop. It would sometimes run without crashing if launched from the command line in a terminal window, but lots of repeated errors were generated. I found the solution on one of the Fedora forums and I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else is in the same boat. Instructions as follows (adjusted for oS 13.1 x86_64 as installed on my machine; 1. You need the following up to date packages installed in your system: 1A. freeimage (the openSuSE package is libfreeimage3) 1B. qt-x11 1C. qt 1D. qtwebkit 1E. qt-devel (temporarily for a shim library creation - can be removed afterwards) 2. Install the current GE via the rpm (the forum post mentions modifying it to remove a /usr/bin dependency but I did not need to do that). 3. In /opt/google/earth/free delete all four libQt* libraries. 4. If you try to run googleearth now you will get an error; libbase.so: undefined symbol: _Z34BasicAtomicInt_fetchAndAddOrderedPVii. The missing function can be generated as follows; 4A. Create a file (the author called it baifaao.cpp but the name is not that important) with this content; ================= Code ============================= /* amirpli 2013/11/28 */ #include <QtCore/QAtomicInt> extern "C" { int _Z34QBasicAtomicInt_fetchAndAddOrderedPVii(QAtomicInt* a, int b) { return a->fetchAndAddOrdered(b); } } =============== End Code ========================= 4B. Compile it and create the shim library with; gcc -O3 -fPIC --shared baifaao.cpp -o baifaao.so Place baifaao.so in /opt/google/earth/free. 5. Edit (as root) the file /opt/google/earth/free/googleearth; add the following line immediately before the line starting with LD_LIBRARY_PATH; LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libgreeimage.so.3:./baifaao.so \ Note 1: Make sure there is no whitespace following the '\' at the end of that line. Note 2: Make sure there are no blank lines between the line you added and the LD_LIBRARY_PATH line. After following these instructions Google Earth now starts and runs properly again. No crashes so far. [opensuse] Any VLC experts here?

I have a copy of Windows 7 Professional installed - not installed in a virtual drive - and have the VLC (version 2.1.3 for Windows) installed there. Last night I booted into W#7 to watch a Blu-ray disc but accidentally (force of habit I guess as VLC is what I use in openSUSE) selected VLC to view this Bd disc. To my total surprise VLC played that Bd disc perfectly and flawlessly! However, when I went back to openSUSE VLC (which is version 2.1.4, btw) in openSUSE had a hernia (as usual) and wouldn't even recognise that a Bd disc was inserted! So, the question is: why is VLC in Windows able to perfectly play Bd discs while in openSUSE it is a brain-dead application re Blu-ray? I have checked in YaST and there are libbluray* rpms installed. I know that this debate took place not long ago about whether to have VLC from openSUSE or from videolan.org installed and I am now wondering if this debate was more relevant than thought at that time. The VLC for Windows which I have installed comes from videolan.org itself, but the VLC which doesn't play Bd discs in openSUSE comes from openSUSE. Can anybody throw some light on this, please? Hello everybody, is it possible to install multiple SSL certificates for a single apache vhost? I am not talking about multiple vhosts on a single IP address. Instead, I'd like to use multiple certificates for a single vhost. Background: My root certificate is about to expire. Therefore, I'd like to create a new CA. I'd like the server to offer the old certificate (signed by the old CA) to the clients that don't have the new root certificate yet. The clients who have (possibly only) the new root certificate should get the certificate signed by the new CA. Is this possible?
