[opensuse] thunderbird - The RETR command did not succeed. (RECV: -ERR no such message.)

All, After the trip to Co., thunderbird (24.2.0) now refuses to download my pop mail -- which I presume is due to me accessing the same pop3 mailbox via the ISP webmail interface while in Co. Thunderbird could retrieve pop3 fine while in Colorado, but could not send due to accessing via a foreign/remote IP (not on my suddenlink.com network) So I used the suddenlink webmail interface to send mail while away. This seems to have done something that now prevent thunderbird from being able to retrieve messages from my account now that I have returned home. The error given by thunderbird is: The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server pop.suddenlinkmail.com responded: no such message. Is there some message index that is messed that is preventing tbird from downloading from this pop host? It can obviously see all messages, but then gives -ERR no such message? In oS previous to 13.1, I could add a debug package following the suggestions in gdb. For example, if an app uses tcl, and the debug package is not installed, gdb would say: Missing separate debuginfo for /usr/lib/libtcl8.6.so Try: zypper install -C "debuginfo(build- id)=9ad934500cba5db272425d8b19d13089857ed146" Running the suggested zypper command resulted in the installation of the debug info. On 13.1, when I try to install the package, I get this error: # zypper install -C "debuginfo(build- id)=9ad934500cba5db272425d8b19d13089857ed146" Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... No provider of 'debuginfo(build-id) = 9ad934500cba5db272425d8b19d13089857ed146' found. Resolving package dependencies... Nothing to do. Did I forget to enable something? Hello, I would like to install a Digital Audio Workstation for voice over recording. I'm an openSUSE user, so would prefere to use openSUSE. I need rt kernel (seems to be available), jacksd (avail) and Ardour. [opensuse] Spurious Wireless Mouse up-wheel

Both my wife's Dell M1330 laptop running Ubuntu 12.04 and my Lenovo Thinkpad T520 running OpenSuSE 12.2 are experiencing spurious up-wheel events from Logitech wireless mice, a M325 and a M510 model. Switching mice doesn't change behaviour much. I've disabled all buttons except the first three on her laptop with xinput. It then behaves as expected. It happens less on my laptop, and I can deal with it when it happens. Has anyone seen this? A dying battery may make it worse. A fresh battery certainly doesn't fix it. [opensuse] flash video download?

Can anyone tell me how to download a flash video? I have purchased an online course, and the streaming videos are all in flash. The problem is, sometimes I traveland go to places where I have no internet access, or go to places where I might have it but the bandwidth is very small. Watching a streaming video with low bandwidth can turn a 20 minute video into an hour and a half, and make it hard to follow as there are so many frequent pauses. [opensuse] Force drive ID?

I'm trying to upgrade my system from a pair of IDE drives to a single SATA drive, with the intention of removing the old drives when I'm done. I'd like to have the old drives on the system, until I've copied over everything I need. With the old drives plugged in, they always come up as sda & sdb, with the new drive sdc. [opensuse] Sendmail authentication/authorization question

I have smtp auth working fine with sendmail on opensuse 13.1 - users have to authenticate to the box (which gets handled by Activedirectory via samba etc but that is a different story) and users can use the opensuse 13.1 server to send outgoing email only after successfully authenticating. However, now I have a need to allow only certain users, and not all authenticated users, to be able to send outgoing mail through sendmail. Does anyone know how one can specify a list of users that sendmail would accept while rejecting all others, even ones who have authenticated fine? [opensuse] BlueGriffon crashing like a ... blind griffin

I recently noticed that the latest BlueGriffon is now available from the openSUSE Mozilla repo, so I installed it. It didn't pull in any other packages. Whilst the program launches, clicking just about anywhere in the program window (or at least around the menu / toolbar) causes it to immediately crash and close. This is on a standard 13.1 64-bit recent fresh install, with the only other added repos being KDE Extra, Packman and libdvdcss. I don't have any urgent need for the application so I've deleted it but I thought I'd put this out there so somebody might want to look into it or confirm my findings. Hello, I've a problem with the scsi subsystem We have tape library connected over SAN with ten tape devices. The devices are seen with lssci and the mappings between the generic scsi devices and the scsi addresses (H:B:T:L) with sg_map -x. This looks like: .. /dev/sg235 7 0 0 0 12 /dev/sg236 7 0 0 1 8 /dev/sg237 7 0 0 2 8 /dev/sg238 7 0 1 0 1 /dev/nst0 /dev/sg239 7 0 2 0 1 /dev/nst1 /dev/sg240 7 0 2 1 8 /dev/sg241 7 0 3 0 1 /dev/nst2 /dev/sg242 7 0 4 0 1 /dev/nst3 ... But sometimes I get the messages from sg_map: "Strange, could not find device /dev/nstxx mapped to sg device??" on top of the output and at the end the strange "scsi address" (see sg254) /dev/sg252 9 0 1 0 1 /dev/sg253 10 0 0 0 1 /dev/nst11 /dev/sg254 -2 -2 -2 -2 -2 /dev/sg255 10 0 2 0 1 The device file /dev/sg254 exist in the /dev directory. If I disconnect the device, the device file will be removed and if I reconnect again, the device file is create automatically.
