[opensuse] IMAP issues on openSUSE 12.3

I am trying to get IMAPd running on openSUSE 12.3. At this point, I just want it to serve $HOME/Maildir folders to clients like evolution on localhost. Oddly, I had it working. I decided to do a reboot to ensure that everything came back. (more of these...) (evolution:4441): evolution-mail-WARNING **: Failed to refresh folder: folder://1366192940.32174.4%40acme.pacific/INBOX/Customers/Applanix: Server unexpectedly disconnected: Fatal error: TOO MANY CONSECUTIVE PROTOCOL VIOLATIONS: Also, when I give evolution the password for imap (current user's password on localhost) it complains that the password is wrong. Which it is not. I am not using ssl, and passwords are not encrypted. The various log files I have looked at did not shed any light. [opensuse] Support driver for amd/ati HD7790

ref: opensuse 12.3 kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop KDE 4.10.3 amd videodriverfile:amd-driver-installer-radeon-hd7790-12.101.2.1-linux-x86.x86_64.run I have recently installed a radeon HD7790 videocard on my desktopcomputer. I downloaded the specific driver for this brandnew card from the amd website. I tried to install this file, but it ended with errors, kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop not found. Install with the --force parameter is also no solution. [opensuse] problems with systemctl and teamviewer daemon

Is anyone successfully running teamviewer8 on opensuse 12.3? If so I'd like to know how you got it to work. When I try to run teamviewer I get the following error: The TeamViewer daemon is not running! Please start the daemon (needs root permissions) before running TeamViewer: teamviewer --daemon start running teamviewer --deamon start produces the following error message: systemctl start teamviewerd.service Failed to issue method call: Unit teamviewerd.service failed to load: No such file or directory. If I manually start the daemon from the commandline using /opt/teamviewer8/tv_bin/teamviewerd -d then teamview will work. Would be grateful for any advice or times. [opensuse] postfix and relay access denied

I am setting up postfix on a 12.3 machine. When receiving mail, it does not want to do local delivery: acme postfix/smtpd[10014]: connect from internal.opq.se[10.209.160.46] acme postfix/smtpd[10014]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from internal.opq.se[10.209.160.46]: 554 5.7.1 <roger(a)acme.pacific>: Relay access denied; from=<trac(a)opq.se> to=<roger(a)acme.pacific> proto=ESMTP helo=<stockholm.opq.se> acme postfix/smtpd[10014]: disconnect from internal.opq.se[10.209.160.46] The local machine is acme.pacific, and that is where I want this message to be delivered. I have the following line in /etc/postfix/main.cf (restarting postfix after the change): myhostname = acme.pacific Previously (earlier versions of openSUSE), this was what it took to get mail to acme.pacific delivered locally. (Too bad I only set up a system like this once evey couple years. Of course, that is largely because once set up, openSUSE does tend to work and work...) (Sorry for any word wrap oddness. kmail is new to me. I want my evolution back. I'm guessing your samba guy thinks of the global DNS system as a database you your local master records as the part of that you maintain and thus your partition of the overall global database. Hi I'm trying to write some plain English notes but I've come across this. Our DNS data is replicated between 2 DC's. It is held in a ldb. The samba guys refer to this as the 'DNS partition'. This kills any chance of using just plain English. To me, a partition is /dev/sda. Agreed, our ldb could well be _part_ of say /dev/sda1, but it's still a database. I've had a quick look at the 12.3 release notes but I can't find any reference to calling a database a partition. Nothing seems to have changed. Has it? So, I've done the 'zypper dup' that was recommended and now it comes back 'nothing to do'. Similarly 'zypper up' :-) But 'zypper verify' doens't # zypper verify Loading repository data...
