[opensuse] openSUSE 12.3 graphical update program, and zypper up, issue

Hi all, I have two openSUSE 12.3 installations in VirtualBox, one with the KDE environment without third party repositories, and one with LXDE environment with all Packman repositories. After installing the latest updates with the graphical update manager, the graphical update manager did not show any updates, at both of these installations. However zypper up, showed updates in both of them, and I installed them with it. Why didn't those updates show up in the graphical update manager? Thank you. [opensuse] UEFI and W7 recovery?

I have a new laptop that I'm anxious to get opensuse onto. After failing miserably with both virtualbox and 12.2, and reading that 12.3 works fine with uefi, I've downloaded 12.3 and written it onto a dvd. I backed up my W7 system, but I don't want to lose the vendor-supplied recovery partition (there is, of course, no recovery dvd). When I boot into 12.3 install, I get the message, "You have to delete all existing partitions to get a valid uefi boot partition", or text to that effect. There are no other options offered (the present partition setup is corrupt due to the disastrous 12.2 attempt), and I see no way to avoid wiping the recovery partition. Make a backup of ~/.thunderbird just to be on the safe side before doing above. ALTERNATIVE solution which you could try: right-click on the TB icon and select icon settings>application and remove the '%' in 'thunderbird %' and see if this works. [opensuse] How the heck to you stop screen blanking on Opensuse 12.2

This is driving me nuts. I have an Opensuse system I use as a mythfrontend. How the heck to you stop screen blanking on Opensuse 12.2 running gnome? I've tried every setting I can find that has to do with power or screen saver, yet after about 20 mins it the screen starts to fade to black/blank. Hitting a key on the remote does nothing to stop the blanking, I have to physically hit a key on the keyboard attached to the system. Any help is appreciated. 12.3 Hi A priority of 97 is a higher priority than 99, right? So, If I zypper dup, it will take the version from the 97 repo? [opensuse] wie in /boot löschen/Platz machen?

Guten Tag, Ich hab mein OS 12.3 so eingerichtet, dass bei einem Kernel-Update die alte Version noch vorhanden bleibt. Nun habe ich also schon einige Versionen in /boot und der Platz geht zu Ende wie Yast mitteilt. Kann ich die alten config..., initrd..., symtypes... sysctl.conf..., System.map... vmlinux..., vmlinuz... einfach ohne Weiteres löschen oder muss ich dabei Weiteres beachten oder irgendwo etwas ändern?
