[opensuse] dosbox Problems After Migrating to OSE 12.3

>From OSE 11.3 I had a few DOS apps I use set up to run und dosbox on 11.3 and it does just fine. I can even ssh into the 11.3 VM using the -Y flag on ssh and it runs fine. When I try the same under 12.3, I get: DOSBox version 0.74 Copyright 2002-2010 DOSBox Team, published under GNU GPL. --- Exit to error: Can't init SDL Unable to open a console terminal After much trial and error, I finally got it to work as a nonroot user by opening a console session, invoking startx (which in turn invokes icewm), opening an xterm window and then invoking dosbox. Question: How can I get this to work in a SSH session which works fine under 11.3? [opensuse] YaST Services Manager in 13.1?

I've just upgraded from 12.3 to 13.1, and have run into something that's... odd. It's almost certainly me missing the obvious, but... since I'm missing it... I've installed ddclient and created my usual ddclient.conf file. In previous releases I'd pop open YaST and go to the Runlevel Editor and enable ddclient. In 13.1, the Runlevel Editor is gone, replaced with the Services Manager. The Services Manager is nice, and an improvement over the old tool.. but... I don't see my ddclient Service in the list. Other things I've installed like Apache are there and I can enable/manage nicely. If I use chkconfig, I see this: ------------------ ddclient off ------------------ Which is to be expected since I haven't manually started the service. So... am I looking in the wrong place in YaST to enable the service? I could do it CLI, but... I'm looking for the GUI way to do this and sort of expected to just find it there in the new Services Manager. [opensuse] Yast : system : bootloader oS 13.1

Hello List i note that on my system, yast's bootloader takes a very long time "Reading Partitions". Then, after closing yast, if one tries again to adjust bootloader a second time, then "Reading Partitions" gets to 30% and then sticks at 30%. ..................... Dear translators, today I stumbled over the German website http://www.opensuse.org/de/ , which announces "openSUSE 13.1: Fertig zur Tat!". I'd suggest to change the wording to "Los Gehts!" or "Betriebsbereit!". The Austrian phrases "Gemma!", "Hoppauf!" or "Auf gehts!" are maybe not that good ;-) "Fertig zur Tat!" is not a German phrase; searching it with Goolge only displays four results including the openSUSE one. [opensuse] What happened to dovecot?

I just upgraded my main system to 13.1. However, my dovecot imap server stopped working and I can't get it started. It has been updated to the latest version. However, even after manually trying to start it, it doesn't show in ps aux|grep dovecot. Please review Alacarte for openSUSE 13.1 because it results being no more working to setting up new app/icons in main Menu and we must proceed by hand making custom /usr/share/ .desktop entries. Unfortunately, on reboot I was left at the command prompt with a message that the nvidia driver was not present. I manually re-installed the nvidia drivers (from the rpms in the bumblebee repo) and have graphics back, but I thought the whole point of dkms was to sort that out automatically... Am I missing something, do I need to activate dkms somewhere (other than installing dkms and the nvidia dkms packages, that it)? HI I keep getting the following (have been since opensuse 12.*). The repos that initially fail are random and the failed repos always connect on retry. Hi 13.1 during routine dup Computing distribution upgrade... 2 Problems: Problem: libavformat52-32bit-0.7.16-2.3.x86_64 requires librtmp.so.1, but this requirement cannot be provided Problem: ibus-1.5.4-1.1.x86_64 conflicts with libreoffice-kde4 provided by libreoffice-kde4-4.1.2.3-1.1.x86_64 Problem: libavformat52-32bit-0.7.16-2.3.x86_64 requires librtmp.so.1, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: librtmp1-2.4.git20131007-1.1.i586[ftp.gwdg.de-suse] Solution 1: keep obsolete libavformat52-32bit-0.7.16-2.2.x86_64 Solution 2: install librtmp1-2.4.git20131007-1.1.i586 despite the inferior architecture Solution 3: break libavformat52-32bit-0.7.16-2.3.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies Choose from above solutions by number or skip, retry or cancel [1/2/3/s/r/c] (c): The libavformat stuff comes from packman and I'm on 64 bit so maybe I break it?
