[opensuse] yast, repositories view

Hello, I just found a feature of the yast, software, repositories view that I think odd, and I would like to know what you think I want to use this view to know what application come from what repo. but in fact, looks like if a software exists in the repo and is installed from any repo (including the others), it is listed as installed in the repo view. example. Audacity is installed from packman. It's also available in the repo:multimedia:apps view. so one have to look at any individual application to know what the application come from I had to go torepo view, multimedia:apps, audacity, I see it as installed. [opensuse] Polkit configuration and KDE integration

Folks, OpenSuSE included the package polkit-kde-kcmmodules in version 12.3. It seems this was dropped in 13.1, but the polkit and the polkit-kde-agent packages were kept. Was there a reason for this as it seems it would be needed to manage action policies from the desktop configuration. After some searching through packages on an older 12.3 system, finally pinpointed the missing package name and was able to download from http://rpm.pbone.net/. How do I go about having this package included in the next release? [opensuse] IMAP folders Unread message count?

Hi, Using Thunderbird 13.0.1 on OpenSuse 11.2 with it connecting to a local dovecot IMAP store with over 250 folders and sub-folders for a single user aka me. I would like to find out how many unread emails are there in the folders and sub-folders. I have Googled for a Dovecot manual for the CLI command but have been unsuccessful as my Google-fu seems to have been affected by the low sun spot number. Anyone help? [opensuse] very long boot time (13.1)

Hi, always nice to run into new problems with every new openSUSE version, not. ;-) After unexpected smooth operation of 12.3 wrt systemd and boot/shutdown the 13.1 behaviour fell behind a decade again. Booting takes ages as well as shutdown. Since shutdown is hard to debug and I have not much information yet I'd like to ask about the boot phase. Hygiea:~ # systemd-analyze blame 33.536s systemd-udev-settle.service 3.163s network.service [...] There are some more in the area of 3 seconds but what is the first one doing? I guess basically nothing since with 12.3 I haven't had the issue and the system still worked? Can I make the "nothing" faster somehow? Or alternatively how to find the culprit there? { having just used zypper to update Thunderbird to version 24.2.0 i can not see my Lightening Calendar Data In my /home directory /.thunderbird/9i9wirek.default/calendar-data there is a file called " local.sqlite " which seems to contain my calendar OK : How can i get Thunderbird Lightening Calendar to 'see' local.sqlite ? Hi all, anyone around who knows if hifn crypto accelerators are an option in OS_13.1? There is a list of supported hardware, but in: https://github.com/xelerance/Openswan/wiki/Hardware-crypto-acceleration They also mention a specific OCF-kernel patch, and i wonder if that is applied to 13.1. [opensuse] 12.3 -> 13.1 update via DVD question/comment

hi Some background first. I had an issue occur on 12.3 with login after i had to Ctrl-Backspace out due to Kmail/Akonadi Dbus issues caused the session to hang. KDE selected a different log in screen to the opensuse one i had been using and it didn't allow me to login, it accepted user/password ok, login dialogue disappeared and then came back to the login screen. So.. my simplistic solution was to configure an autologin but i didn;t know which KDE files to edit so i used Yast/Editor /etc/sysconfig/Desktop/Display manager/DISPLAYMANAGER_AUTOLOGIN and inserted a user name but this didn't work. In hindsight, I think i made the mistake of just logging out and not rebooting. So i decided time to update to 13.1 to try and sort it out. so after a successful update, here are my questions. 1. The autologin now works once the machine has been restarted - should this override the KDE settings? 2.
