[opensuse] pane fonts in thunderbird

Hello, After changing my monitor, the fonts of Thunderbird are no more usable for me. However the thunderbird help system keep saying I have to chance "userChrome.css", but I have no such file in the .thunbderbird folder! [opensuse] howto get details of 1394 (firewire) device creation on camera plug-in (need BASH test)

Guys, Working with dvgrab and a firewire link to download digital video, I have run into a problem on camera plug-in to the computer. Sometimes the firewire device is created properly and video downloads fine. Other times, the device is created and is able to control the camera, but cannot download video. Unplugging and replugging the cable in usually cures it. The kernel message for the bad plug-in is: Sep 24 21:21:18 archangel kernel: [2111415.165895] firewire_core: phy config: card 0, new root=ffc1, gap_count=5 Sep 24 21:21:18 archangel kernel: [2111415.800050] firewire_core: created device fw1: GUID 08004601017ede99, S100 For the successful plug-in, you get: Sep 24 21:33:54 archangel kernel: [2112171.169381] firewire_core: phy config: card 0, new root=ffc1, gap_count=5 Sep 24 21:33:57 archangel kernel: [2112174.926294] firewire_core: created device fw1: GUID 08004601017ede99, S100, 1 config ROM retries Note the "1 config ROM retries" appended to the 'fw1' device creation when the plug-in goes correctly. I don't understand what this is or what it means, but I do need to devise a way to test for a successful plug-in from within a BASH script. Now, granted, it is simple enough to grep the message log and look for "1 config ROM retries" within a reasonable time after the plug in, but I know that is a hack... When the device is created, where does it go in the /proc tree? How best to test and what to test for the correct creation of the ROM entries before beginning the dvgrab? [opensuse] Bug on Nautilus (opeSUSE 11.4 - Gnome 3.0.2)

Gents, Sorry to post this here instead of open a bug, but I'm reminding this now and I wish to be quick: I noticed a bug, or at least "strange behaviour" on Nautilus under openSUSE 11.4 x86_64, Gnome 3.0.2: If you try to delete a folder by selecting the root folder tree on the left of the window and click "move to trash" then Nautilus crashes. Same folder deletion but now selecting a folder from the right pane of the window, doesn't replicate the problem and selected folder went removed. On the 8th Sept it was grandiosely announced, "The openSUSE community is happy to announce that the 6th Milestone of the upcoming release will be renamed openSUSE 12.1 Beta 1. This change in name reflects the state of this milestone, being ready for more extensive testing." Today (as I write)it is 26 Sept. So, where is this Beta 1 of 12.1? Hi, At this morning I saw a new update for KDE 4.7, but I noted that there is no more the kdebase package. Since, I suppose, it is a essential package I do not update KDE. So, kdebase is no more necessary or there is some delay in its availability? [opensuse] Kmail or Chrome behavior

When I click on an URL in kmail I expect the URL to open in Chrome. This happens without problem. The behavior I do not like is that it automatically changes to Chrome. I have looked into Kmail and tried to look through the chrome preferences but I do not see a possibility to change this behavior. I would like to decide when I go to Chrome and when to leave Kamail2. [opensuse] Dovecot 2.0

I must be dense. I've been trying to get Dovecot 2.0 going, but I can't even get it to connect. To keep things simple, I'm just using plain IMAP port 143. I'VE tried both passwd & shadow authentication.
