[opensuse] Connection refused on RDP connection to headless VirtualBox VM

Greetings. After recreating my Windows xp installation in an Oracle Virtualbox VM on openSUSE 11.4, I've found that if I have lost the ability to connect to the VM using rdesktop. This happens whether the firewall is running or not. When I try to connect to the headless VM session (rdesktop localhost:3389) I get the following error: Autoselected keyboard map en-us ERROR: connect: Connection refused If I specify the en-us keyboard map, I still get the "Connection refused" message. I'm starting the headless session with VRDE=on and the VM config has Remote Display enabled with the port set to 3389. Before I recreated the xp installation, I was able to connect to a headless VM without a problem, so now I'm wondering what I must be doing wrong. This doesn't work in 11.4 Tumbleweed: ssh -X localhost xclock Error: Can't open display: The same works on SLES11. [opensuse] KMail2, sorting problem in mesage window of folders

Using Kmail2, KMail Version 4.7.1, Using KDE Development Platform 4.7.1 (4.7.1) and run into following problem: In a folder with a lot of emails I am stuck somewhere with emails from august 2004 and I cannot go to the new unread emails. With the Suse email folder that does not matter much after I have lost all of the old emails anyhow and making the message window larger I can read most emails, but I would like to have my emails presented in a normal way. I can try to move to newer emails but I am stuck in the lowest part of the folders. Have the messages in the folders sorted with: activity by Date, Threaded and Fancy with Clickable Status. Somebody else with similar problem? [opensuse] df reports completely different sizes from fdisk

Hi ListMates, Opensuse Linux (Linux sr-server 2.6.37.6-0.7-default #1 SMP 2011-07-21 02:17:24 +0200 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux) I have a very unusual problem where fdisk reports one size BUT df reports a TOTALLY different and unexpected size. Besides doing a full backup, repartition, reformat and restore, is there anything else I can try first?? [opensuse] posting via a droid?

All, I got a droid 3 recently. I tried posting from it a couple times today. Both times, the e-mail was rejected due to HTML content. I'm using the gmail app. Does anyone know if it can be configured to send text only emails? guys Updates tonight from the xorg repo broke x on my toshiba laptop. The system would boot and be dumped to console with some message about not being able to move Xorg.0.log to Xorg.0.log.old (ho hum...) The rpms updated were: /var/cache/zypp/packages/xorg/noarch: xkeyboard-config-2.2.1-25.18.noarch.rpm xorg-x11-libX11-ccache-7.6-16.56.noarch.rpm /var/cache/zypp/packages/xorg/x86_64: xorg-x11-server-7.6_1.10.4-163.1.x86_64.rpm xorg-x11-server-extra-7.6_1.10.4-163.1.x86_64.rpm xorg-x11-Xvnc-7.6_1.10.4-163.1.x86_64.rpm Downgrading those files alone would allow X to start, but there was no keyboard or mouse input accepted by the display manager. [opensuse] decent vpn client for openSUSE 11.4?

Hello: Is there a vpn client for openSUSE 11.4 which can be used by non root users and keeps connection (ie. does not hang connections without reason)? I used to use cisco vpnclient but I can't make it work in 11.4. I tried vpnc but can not run it/make vpn tunnel as a regular user. I use ifup method for networking, not networkmanager. Hello All, i have been facing a problem and i tried my level best to figure out the issue but no luck. I have tried enough googling but still no luck. So, i ma writing here to see if i can get any help. LAMP Stack: I am using a LAMP Stack: Opensuse 11.4: Linux lms1060 2.6.37.6-0.5-default #1 SMP 2011-04-25 21:48:33 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Apache: 2.2.17 MySQL: 5.5.8 PHP: 5.3.5 Architecture: We are using this LAMP stack to run Moodle. As per the architecture Moodle Config files and Moodle Data directory both are on NFS Server. which is mounted on the VM i am running OpenSuse 11.4. This NFS is build on MSS 2008 R2 cluster and we are using Microsoft's NFS software version 3. Situation: whenever there is load on the server the avg load goes high. High mean very high. VM becomes unusable. the only option left is to reset the VM to get the things normal. Even if I run bzip2 while apache is serving it leaves the apache processes in "D" state and it sometime never comes back. To fix this issue we had added one more virtual CPU to the VM. but my confusion is i was running the same thing when everything was native means all moodle file and moodle data was local to VM and it was running fine with one virtual CPU. My opinion there is flaw in architecture but i am not able to prove that. Please see the screenshot attached and log files attached to this. Recently I migrated one our new VM to this architecture and it also started giving the same issue. Load Average always goes high if you any CPU extensive work. Any suggestion or help or testing idea would help me in this situation. [opensuse] Black Screen

Hi, I did a zypper up from konsole and after the next time I started my laptop the screen only boots to a black screen with the touchpad pointer visible. I tried to go into runlevel 3 at bootup, and did a zypper dup to see if it would fix the problem, but no. I next tried to boot into icewm and used yast to reinstall the nvidia nouveau driver, but that didn't fix the problem either. What do I need to do to get the desktop to boot in kde 4.7, with the installed OpenSuse 11.4?
