Can anyone shed some light on why F-spot does not run (even though installed) in gnome (I am using gnome 3, have no idea if it worked under gnome2.x)? Thanks if advance. [opensuse] Samba & Windows 7 problem

Hi.. I have a huge problem with a Windows 7 workstation using file shares on my Samba server. When reading or writing files on a share, I almost never reach more than 1.5MB/sec over a gigabit connection. Hooking up an older Windows XP machine on the same share, copying the same files, I reach close to 65MB/sec. This tells me that the issue is Windows 7 talking to Samba, I've tried googling on the subject, but I don't find any relevant solutions. I'd like to test SDFS / OpenDedup on openSUSE 11.4 <http://www.opendedup.org/download> It isn't packaged for openSUSE, and I also can't find an OpenJDK of Java 1.7 for openSUSE? [opensuse] Mount on demand with automounter

This is a question that is ultimately about the automounter. I have the automounter working with NFS. My laptop can access my home directory laptop:/home/anton/server symlinks to laptop:/mnt/server/anton which has a autofs NFS mount controlled by /etc/auto.mnt that points to server:/home/anton There are a few more things like that so I can access development and documents and CD/DVD images on the "server". That all works. What I'm trying for now is something 'local' and it doesn't seem to do what I expect. I created laptop:/etc/auto.master /home/anton /etc/auto.home-anton and in that had a line /Downloads -fstype=ext3 :/dev/vgmain/Downloads Starting the automounter produced a slew of error message and they were about all the other file systems I had mounted under /home/anton And that line didn't seem to work, though there were no error messages going on. I've googled some and all I find about "/home" is mounting it NFS from other machines. I understand that. I've done that in other contexts. That's not what I'm trying to do here. Hi, I used the following configuration in the past and migrating an old system to 11.4. But there I just don't get it to work anymore. pure-ftpd is started through xinetd: server_args = -E -A -l pam /etc/pam.d/pure-ftpd: #%PAM-1.0 auth required pam_listfile.so item=user sense=deny file=/etc/ftpusers onerr=succeed auth sufficient pam_ldap.so auth required pam_shells.so #auth include common-auth account include common-account password include common-password session required pam_loginuid.so session include common-session nss_ldap and openldap apparently work correctly but when I try to log in over ftp it always fails. I can bind with the same user credentials to ldap (tested via ldapsearch). I get the following output in /var/log/messages: pure-ftpd: PAM audit_log_acct_message() failed: Operation not permitted pure-ftpd: (?@localhost) [WARNING] Authentication failed for user [xxx] The same setup worked with an earlier version of openSUSE without any issues. What can I do to debug this further or are there any ideas what's going wrong already?
