[opensuse] Xorg and Kernel repos

At the end of http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bugreport_X it tells how to test the latest X11. In addition to specifying the latest X in: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_XX.X/ it suggests using the latest kernel in: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_XX.X/ In my setup, I have only been using the X repo to get new X versions. Even though these are happy to install with the kernel I have, could this be a cause of some issues I am seeing with nvidia? Does everyone else who uses the X repo above also use the Kernel repo above? In my case, XX.X is 11.2. [opensuse] Detected scanner, proper driver, won't scan

The scanner is Epson 640U, in recently installed oS v11.3. YaST > Scanners finds it. scanimage -L and scanimage -T don't. Attemps to scan produce "Failed to start scanner. Invalid argument", which is not very informative. A review of a number of Google hits doesn't add more. I am assuming (hoping) that I have left something undone, but have not found anything to point me to it. [opensuse] Mounting drives at boot

Have there been any updates within the last couple of days, to slow mounting of extra drives at boot, Or have I just done something that's broken it? For the last 2 days, when I boot my system, Firefox and Thunderbird (at least) don't load with the message that they're already running. But the problem is the partition that they're located on isn't mounting at boot, even though nothing has changed in fstab etc. If I immediately do a sudo mount -a, everything then works fine... Anybody having similar probs, or can suggest what I may have done....? I've been seeing for some time the following set of errors. I could accept the Virtualbox messages, because I haven't tried to use VB yet. But why not OpenOffice, dbus, k3b, kupdateapplet, etc.? I keep hoping whatever's keeping them in the old versions will clear up, but it's not, for some long time now. Should I be concerned? [opensuse] updating on 11:3 is broken

If this is the wrong list for this, please let me know. I tried running an update today. Suddenly I have to 'configure an update repository' which involves registering. I've no problem with that, if the system worked, but it doesn't. I get as far as it launching a browser from the 'manual interaction required dialog', and I press 'continue', which launches a browser. I click 'continue' on that too. It closes, and I get a brief 'contacting server' progress dialog, then the 'manual interaction' dialog is modal again. From here there are three paths: 1. Continue the above loop ad infinitum. 2. Cancel, in which case I'm not configured, and can't update 3. cut and past the link in the 'manual interaction dialog for a manual registration. Option 3 doesn't seem to work either. Although the tab in firefox says 'registration completed', the page says I have to complete the registration process by clicking the 'continue' button. So I do, and nothing happens. I have two questions: 1. where do I go from here? 2. Did no-one learn from the version 10 mess that changing the updating system during the rush to get a new release out is a bad idea? [opensuse] Rebuilding Package

There is a package with a bug that is not fixed, to work around this I need to rebuild a package in Packman. [opensuse] shutter Package

Hello Mates, atm i have a little Problem with shutter. [opensuse] kernel messages on openSUSE 11.2

Hello: I use openSUSE 11.2 with default kernel-desktop, and KDE 3.5.10 as desktop manager. Sometimes so called 'kernel message' windows pop-up on the screen, and the same messages are shown in all the the opened terminal windows (konsole). Is there a way to disable this and/or restrict to it only one window, eg to the popping-up x-window?
