[opensuse] small installation help

hi, though i have downloaded but before going to install have some doubts: At the page: http://en.opensuse.org/images/f/f4/11.4_LIVE_installer-partitioning1.png (which is an intermediate step of installation), there is an option: 'Edit partition Setup...', so should I use it ? Because I already have Ubuntu LTS and just to replace it (only Ubuntu LTS with openSUSE) but want to make the Windows XP remain intact, so please let me know which files to be deleted/changed/done....., whatsoever... Further the option of LVM based, what does it do? I request if someone could really explain / elaborate/ link me to this (for explanation). [opensuse] Feedback Please - Toshiba NB550D / AMD C50 / OpenSuSE

Hi, folks, Anyone have any experience, both good and bad, with Toshiba NB550D and OpenSuSE (or any other AMD C50 equipped notebook)? Toshiba NB550D equipped with AMD Dual-Core Processor C-50 CPU with AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics, The last option is very attractive since it allows to smoothly play HD video. I googled various forums, and its seems there is a problems with suspend/wake-up (freezes) on Ubuntu. Does the same problem present with OpenSuSE? Additionally, I would like to ask if HDMI output is working properly when running under Linux. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Now that Intel has switched from MeeGo to Tizen and Android seems increasingly popular for embedded systems how obout openSUSE ? I disagree. Especially since you're new, stick to 11.4 for a few months. People have experience with it. You can ask questions and get knowledgeable answers. When 12.1 comes out in a couple weeks, few people will have the answers, and there will be a number of new bugs. As a new user, you definitely don't want to be part of that process. As an example, those of us that run servers typically wait many months before updating to a new release. So I for one won't be putting 12.1 on a server until March or later. The reality is my servers are still on 11.3 and it is now time for me to move them to 11.4 since it has been out for 7 or so months and the initial release bugs have been mostly fixed. I have one server stuck on 10.3 because it relies on a very old version of Ruby on Rails which is not available on newer installs. You should do an ls -l on a directory with files owned by many acccounts, too. That's why it's good practice to use nscd with LDAP authentication.
