[opensuse] Multiple Monitors 11.4

I have a problem, since I upgraded from 11.1 to 11.1 I can't get Multiple Monitors to work. I have checked openSUSE information DB etc without finding any solution to my problem. Is there anyone out there being able to help me. My OS Information: OS: Linux 2.6.37.6-0.7-desktop x86_64 System: openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) KDE: 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6" My Display Info: Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc Model: Radeon X1300/X1550 2D driver: vesa 3D driver: swrast (No 3D Acceleration) (7.10.2)) --- Cheers, /Thomas Stridh My PGP public key (nr. Hi all, One of my colleagues occasionally sends me fine videos about the usage of a special software. I asked him what did he use and he sent me http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/ It is a screen recording and editing software. Can you suggest something similar that can be used in openSUSE? Hello all, I´m using thunderbird and I´m using e-mail alias. Like this one, which is showing you kdl(a)lhag.de.vu whereas I´m sending from a Hotmail-adress. This is normally working fine, so I want to do the same for my @o.o adress. You´ve got the account settings in thunderbird. I changed the e-mailadress from my hotmail one to my o.o one. I did the same with this mail adress. Here it working fine, whereas my on my o.o one the hotmail-adress is still shown. I have one of my NVIDIA ports hooked up to the HDMI input of my home receiver (called a home theater unit now), that handles siwtching between devices -- it has a TV out -- to my flat screen. Anyway, the Nvidia has always detected a video display through it (but always PNP)...latest drivers and card detect the audio system as a 8 channel output device -- it's not in my kernel or driver -- but in the device -- it splits the sound off and send the video signal on. Wasn't until latest set of drivers with newer graphics card that it could detect the digital audio channel through HDML.... My card is a GTX590... (drives up to 4 displays) and several digital audio output devices are associated with it -- probably one for each video port. [opensuse] Avahi zeroconf

One of my users is trying to get a USB headphone set working on a box running the latest OpenSUSE. He's getting the following error message: "The Avahi Zeroconf service is not running. Please make sure that Avahi is installed and activated before starting the PulseAudio Device Chooser". I have no experience with Avahi, any idea what I need to do to get this working for him? The avahi-daemon service is running but avahi-dnsconfd is not, is that significant? I can't start it in any case, the error in the logs is: avahi-daemon: dbus_bus_request_name(): Connection ":1.1245" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.Avahi" due to security policies in the configuration file. [opensuse] problem with nvidia drivers for lenovo z570

I have just installed opensuse 11.4 on lenovo z570 and discovered from the log file of Xorg that drivers for the nvidia graphic card have not been found. Kde desktop starts anywa; it is also able to manage a secondary monitor, together with the built in one. So, my guess, linux is using the second graphic card, that is from intel. How to load the right nvidia drivers in kernel? I have tried to install modules from the opensuse repository, but no luck I have found the correct drivers from Nvidia company, but they require me to compile the kernel. Should the end-user compile the kernel, to exploit the nvidia graphic card? If so, any help? Sandy, All, I'm having fits getting postfix and dovecot to allow relay of mail from my phone. I've followed the auth_tls howto's carefully and I'm still stumped. [opensuse] thunderbird + imap issue

I have recently switched to IMAP, and I'm seeing a little weird issue with TB - occasionally I'll start replying to a mail, then get interrupted and save it in Drafts (or it happens automatically). WHen I resume a little later and send the mail, the copy in Drafts isn't deleted and sometimes the original mail isn't tagged as "replied to". I am still using TB2 (not sure if Lightning works with TB3).
