[opensuse] opensuse 11.3 DNS not working

Hi, I have a DNS server setup on a desktop machine thatis also my print and SAMBA servers. Logically I sohuld conclude that the process 'dnsmasq' is not the DNS server process as indicated by the man page. DNSMASQ(8) DNSMASQ(8) NAME dnsmasq - A lightweight DHCP and caching DNS server. SYNOPSIS dnsmasq [OPTION]... DESCRIPTION dnsmasq is a lightweight DNS, TFTP and DHCP server. It is intended to provide coupled DNS and DHCP service to a LAN. Where does the 'dnsmasq' command line get run from? I would like to review the commadn line and possibly turn on the logging. Does anyone have the DNS server working in OpenSUSE 11.3? Does anyone have the SAMBA server working in OpenSUSE 11.3? [opensuse] KDE4 Session Manager?

In KDE3, there was a "Session Manager" in the Personal Settings, which could be used to configure whether open apps in a session would be restored after logging out & in. Hi all, I'm currently trying 0penSuse 12.1 and I've some problems with virtualbox (OSE or regular) or vmware workstation 7.x or 8.x. Install of package works fine, but I can't compile driver (vboxdrv or vmon, ...) [opensuse] Multiple Monitors 11.4

I have a problem, since I upgraded from 11.1 to 11.1 I can't get Multiple Monitors to work. I have checked openSUSE information DB etc without finding any solution to my problem. Is there anyone out there being able to help me. I asked him what did he use and he sent me http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/ It is a screen recording and editing software. Can you suggest something similar that can be used in openSUSE? Hello all, I´m using thunderbird and I´m using e-mail alias. Like this one, which is showing you kdl(a)lhag.de.vu whereas I´m sending from a Hotmail-adress. This is normally working fine, so I want to do the same for my @o.o adress. You´ve got the account settings in thunderbird. I changed the e-mailadress from my hotmail one to my o.o one. I did the same with this mail adress. Here it working fine, whereas my on my o.o one the hotmail-adress is still shown. I have one of my NVIDIA ports hooked up to the HDMI input of my home receiver (called a home theater unit now), that handles siwtching between devices -- it has a TV out -- to my flat screen. Anyway, the Nvidia has always detected a video display through it (but always PNP)...latest drivers and card detect the audio system as a 8 channel output device -- it's not in my kernel or driver -- but in the device -- it splits the sound off and send the video signal on. Wasn't until latest set of drivers with newer graphics card that it could detect the digital audio channel through HDML.... My card is a GTX590... (drives up to 4 displays) and several digital audio output devices are associated with it -- probably one for each video port. One of my users is trying to get a USB headphone set working on a box running the latest OpenSUSE. He's getting the following error message: "The Avahi Zeroconf service is not running. Please make sure that Avahi is installed and activated before starting the PulseAudio Device Chooser". I have no experience with Avahi, any idea what I need to do to get this working for him? The avahi-daemon service is running but avahi-dnsconfd is not, is that significant? I can't start it in any case, the error in the logs is: avahi-daemon: dbus_bus_request_name(): Connection ":1.1245" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.Avahi" due to security policies in the configuration file. At work I built a server with a 720p monitor. My desktop is 1080p and a ThinkPad with 1024 x 768 resolution. I often use XDMCP to connect to the server. When I use a different monitor, I'll often the panel extends beyond the edges of the monitor or doesn't come close to reaching them. I have to manually adjust the width, which means it'll be the wrong width again, when I use a different system.
