[opensuse] RADVD, RRDNS and IPv6

I have IPv6 enabled on my network, using 6in4 tunneling to a tunnel broker. On my firewall (OpenSUSE 11.0) radvd is used to advertise the IPv6 info to computers on my network. However, it does not seem to be advertising the IPv6 DNS server provided by the tunnel broker. The file /etc/radvd.conf includes these lines, which are supposed to advertise the DNS: RDNSS 2001:5c0:1000:11::2 2001:5c0:1001::194 { AdvRDNSSPreference 8; AdvRDNSSOpen off; AdvRDNSSLifetime 30; }; In order to use an IPv6 DNS, I have to manually add it to resolv.conf, instead of getting it from radvd. [opensuse] System freezes during Install of 11.3

During the Create User spot of the install YaST2 tries to retrieve "cracklib-dict-full.rpm" and does not return (system appears frozen). Had to push the reset button. Anyone see this problem and if so, what did you do? Thanks, Duaine Seems like you are using Thunderbird to access mail from a third party POP server. you can use SpamAssassin or SpamBayes which has a Thunderbird plugin. With both you can "train" the software to reject what you consider to be spam. You can find spambayes on sourceforge. I used to use it before building my own mail server. According to the opensuse.org web site OpenSuse 11.3 supports the devices mentioned above (http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:11.3 ) under the section smartphone support. I am at a complete loss. [opensuse] 11.3: ldap connects don't accept self signed certificates

Hi. I'm facing a problem with 11.3 which did not occur in 11.2. I'm unable to connect to my ldap server from 11.3 clients using TLS. All ldap clients give the following error: ldap_start_tls: Connect error (-11) additional info: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed (self signed certificate in certificate chain) The CA which singed the ldap server's cert is indeed self signed. [opensuse] Policy Kit problems: 11.3 + KDE - fresh install

Hello, I upgraded both my desktop & laptop from 11.2 to 11.3 without any problems. Last week though, my desktop started throwing file system errors & figured the drive was probably dying. I booted from a live CD & was able to fsck the disk but the system panicked on boot, so I decided to install from scratch on a fresh drive & copy my data across. That all seemed to go will until I tried to hibernate or suspend or to access removable media such as my iPod or flash drives. Basically none of that works unless I login as root (or do sudo pm- hibernate or sudo mount /media/whatever, but then Amarok can't write to the iPod!). After doing some googling & testing, I realised the problem seems to be PolicyKit is preventing access - for instance if I run dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.Hal \ /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer \ org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement.Suspend int32:0 I get: Error org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: org.freedesktop.hal.power-management.suspend auth_admin_keep_always <-- (action, result) I tried comparing conf files between the old drive & then new system, but can't seem to find any differences that would relate to this. In particular, /etc/PolicyKit/PolicyKit.conf is the same on both - basically empty apart from a <!DOCTYPE> tag, a comment & a version number. I tried using KDE's System Policies settings but it doesn't seem to let you save any changes. Can anyone suggest a way to fix this? [opensuse] CLI command to open ( /sbin/yast2 {With admin passwd prompt} )???

When I run XFCE there exist "Menu->System->YaST" which will first prompt user for root passwd then, if passwd correct will open yast2... I spend more time using Enlightenment (e16) than xfce however, and e16's menu doesn't have that choice... When I select "Menu->System->YaST" from xfce and click on details it only says "/sbin/yast2" but if I issue "/sbin/yast2" via xfrun4 run prompt it doesn't prompt me for root password but only opens a stripped down version of yast2 with only the options that don;t require root privileges. I want to be able to fire up the yast control center with root permissions from e16 But I don't know how to get the graphical root password prompt. [opensuse] Mouse problem

I'm having a problem with my mouse. I've got a Dell Studio 1745 which has a built-in touchpad which I turn off in desktop config. I also have a Logitech cordless mouse working through a 4-port USB hub connected to one of the two USB ports on the laptop. The problem seems to be that the mouse looses focus after a while, that is, the cursor still moves but the buttons are not functioning. So far I have tried using two other corded mice and plugging directly into the USB port on the laptop without the USB hub but the behaviour continues. This problem first displayed shortly after loading OS 11.3 from DVD. It had not happened during the factory builds or under OS 11.2. When the mouse buttons stop working, the entire desktop seems to lose focus with no keyboard activity having any effect. If I bang the mouse around a bit and keep pushing buttons the focus seems to return for a while but returns. Does anyone have a suggestion about how to test this situation? If ned be, I could reload 11.2 to see what happens. Hi, a quick heads up for the people reading here. Up to now Firefox 4 beta was installable in parallel to previous versions. This just changed for Firefox 4.0b4 which is just about being published from the mozilla:beta repository. Please keep in mind that most addons are not compatible yet and there might be other issues. Do _NOT_ update blindly but I felt it was time to ship the next step within a "beta" repository.
