I'm downloading it at the moment. Hi, I'm looking for the proprietary Nvidia driver (kernel module) for a GeForce FX 5200 graphics card. A rpm is supposed to be at http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.1/, named nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-pae. But there is only a RPM for the most current 11.1 kernel, version 2.6.27.23_0.1. I need one for kernel 2.6.27.7-9. (I can't use the most current kernel since VMware Server 1 doesn't work properly with it anymore.) Is there anywhere a repository archive for older versions where I can fetch a respective RPM for my kernel? Alternatively, is there another possibility to install that driver? [opensuse] odd browser problem

HI all, I got a new problem! I installed SuSE 11.0 on my laptop, started the server etc. Now when I use the brower to look at my web site that I have on my laptop I get the "can't find page error" unless I'm connected to the 'net. IE connected to the 'net I can see my page, off the 'net can't. I've looked at all my settings and they seem correct. Can someone give a clue where to look? [opensuse] Alternative to perl Net::DNS::Resolver ?

[opensuse] How to get SuSE mount USB memory sticks

I just installed SuSE 11.1. It seems to work fine. However, it looks like it has inhereted the same defect from version 10.3 when it comes to automatically mounting USB flash drives. Earlier SuSE versions used to pop up a new icon on the desktop whenever a USB device was connected to a system USB port. I have tried 3 different USB-2 memory sticks and none is seen by the system. [opensuse] kill & restart plasma to restore kpager with compiz

Listmates, I thought I would pass this little nugget along for all compiz-fusion users frustrated with the fact that kde4 kpager applet does not work correctly with compiz. The pager would work correctly only after plasma crashed and was forced to restart. After one of Patrick S. posts on the factory list concerning restarting plasma, I stumbled across a clean way to do it cleanly. The great side effect of manually restarting plasma-desktop is you get your pager back. You can either run the commands manually from the command line, or put it in a script (I used ~/bin/rsplasma): #!/bin/bash kbuildsycoca4 kquitapp plasma-desktop >/dev/null 2>&1 kstart plasma-desktop & >/dev/null 2>&1 exit 0 Now if the kde devs could just get pager to work right with compiz without this, we would be in good shape. -- David C. [opensuse] Problems with ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro

Guys, Quick question. A friend sold me an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro, and I install into my box, I am currently running openSUSE 11.1 with the following kernel. Linux magi 2.6.27.23-0.1-default #1 SMP 2009-05-26 17:02:05 -0400 x86_64 GNU/Linux I have install the rpm from ATI repro x11-video-fglrxG01-8.582-2.1 ati-fglrxG01-kmp-default-8.582_2.6.27.19_3.2-2.1 But when I got to set it up SaX2 -r -m 0=fglrx My screen turns blank and nothing happens. I can't ctrl-atl to any of the consoles. The only thing I can do is ssh into the box and reboot. Now I do have X11, but I it not the correct settings. I have done my research and I know it works because I found this on the openSUSE wiki Radeon HD 2400 Pro Autodetected Image:22px-Tick.png - 3D Support Image:22px-Tick.png OpenSuSE 11RC2 Kernel source and driver available in ATI Repository 14/06/2008 ati-fglrxG01-kmp-default & x11-video-fglrxG01 Normal installation procedure and all tickerty boo! ( Holywood Got Nothing ) My first question is this, how can I know what version of 11.1 I am on, I think my is the finial one. Two, what can I do to get it work.
