[opensuse] 11.2 - here is an error I've never seen before "Uhh too many forks..."

Guys, On my i586 11.2 box I was working in gnome and evidently one of the apps hung. (I don't know which one). When I logged out (dropping back to runlevel 3), the folowing was wating for me on the command line: "Uhh, too many forks, PID got refused, were confused at 24191 hald-runner 1280 fork -513" What is this? Has anyone every encountered one before? I rebooted and the box is working fine. I was just left scratching my head. It is almost as good as the Akonadi Self- Test, Test 14 error "Control process died, committing suicide!" Gotta love those error messages :p -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Guys, My syslog is filling up with console kit messages on my 10.3 server. [opensuse] Flash not layering right

I've been just assuming that everyone has this problem, but since I never see anyone bring it up (though there's always the chance I might have missed it) or see anything in a FAQ about it, I'm beginning to wonder if it's just me. That'd be awesome, because it would mean I could change it. The problem is that Flash always wants to be in front, even when it shouldn't be. This happens in Konqueror, Opera and Firefox. For instance, a web page might have the silly but common design of a Flash movie/application with layers of text or images over parts of it. Flash, however, renders over it every time. I often miss links because of it. I don't like Firefox, but I'll have to open it up and kill the Flash in order to get to where I want to go (easier than ctrl+U and getting the link from there). Same thing on Facebook. You know that little bar on the bottom of Facebook that tries to act like an application bar as well as chat? If there are Flash ads on the right and I scroll through them, the ad goes over that little bar. Hi, I found out what was causing the problem with the timekeeping on my laptop. The motherboard and processor were going bad, and they gave up about one week ago. I googled the problem and found that it is a known design problem caused by the nvidia graphics card heating up the motherboard cpu and causing them to go bad. The time problem was the first and only indication until the computer wouldn't boot. I bought another laptop, and have been getting it up and running on the business trip that I left on the next day after I bought it. I had to do some configuration of the realtek drivers for it. The wireless driver is only available from customer support at Realtek, so I want to get the driver posted somewhere that others who need it can access it from a howto that I want to write and post on Opensuse howto's. I need some advice as to where the driver tarball can be hosted on a server until such time as realtek posts it on their download site. [opensuse] kde doesn't start and gives earlyxdm and postfix error

Dear all, I installed 11.2 i686 KDE4 and it doesn't log in automatically. I get the message: Failed services in runlevel 5: earlyxdm postfix When I type startx at the console, KDE4 starts normally. Autologin is enabled in YaST. Acer Aspire 5102, Ati radeon Xpress 200M 5975 How do I fix this? Ghemical 2.98-2.3 seems to be missing /usr/share/libghemical/2.98/builder. I wnted to report this to the list before i filed a bug report. Has anyone else encountered this problem? -- Stephen P. [opensuse] 11.0/x86 - resuming...

I just installed 11.0/x86 on an old Gateway CURDLS Dual P3 board. The system has 1.25GB RAM and dual P3/1Ghz chips. I'm running an 80MB/s 18GB SCSI drive. I've noticed that sometimes it will show the following: resuming... resuming... resuming... resuming... resuming... etc. I don't see anything when I do a dmesg | tail I have power saving turned off in the BIOS. The only PCI card I have is a Promise SATA card with 2 SATA drives hooked up to it. Anyone have any ideas? It doesn't seem to affect the system. I'm just using it as a file server.
