[opensuse] Problems with 11.1 as guest in VirtualBox?

I just tried 11.1 (AMD64) in VirtualBox 2.1.0 on OpenSolaris 2008.11. I've had VB abort twice now with this message in the logs: 00:44:47.291 !!Assertion Failed!! 00:44:47.291 Expression: <NULL> 00:44:47.291 Location : /export/home/vbox/tinderbox/sol64-rel/src/recompiler_new/VBoxRecompiler.c(4325) cpu_abort 00:44:47.291 fatal error in recompiler cpu: Trying to execute code with memory type addr_code=00007fc5f7a86020 addend=ffff803a0857a000 at 00007fc5f7a86beb. (iHandlerMemType=0x40 iMMIOMemType=0x38) 00:44:47.291 I think I'll try the 32 bit version. [opensuse] How to switch to the default Gnome menu

Hi all, I want to switch to the default top pannel of Gnome and not use the new menu in Opensuse. I am visually impaired and I find the classic pannel to be much easier to navigate with the screen reader Orca. How do I do that? [opensuse] CUPS printers in windows?

Hi all, How can I get a windoze machine to recognize a CUPS printer? I think I've achieved it before using Samba, but is there a simpler way? (The necessary driver is already in the windoze box). [opensuse] dhclient not updating resolv.conf

When I connect to the wireless (don't really know about wired) networks the resolv.conf is not by dhcp and so resolving domain names requires manual insertion of proper dns servers addresses. How can this be fixed? I think the problem is related to the upgrade to 11.1 but can't be sure. Should I include any more info? [opensuse] Knotify4 CPU usage

I have noticed that on 11.1 knotify4 seems to always be taking between 2-3% of the CPU. I wasn't sure if it was my setup or not so I setup a new user, logged in as that user, and still am seeing it take up between 2-3% of the CPU. I looked in bugzilla, but didn't see any bugs with this. I did a generic search with Google, and found some notes about knotify4 taking up lots of CPU, like 50% in general, but those appear to be resolved... Anyone else seeing this? [opensuse] Codecs in 11.1

Since the upgrade to 11.1 system is constantly missing codecs. It cannot play wma in amarok, mp4 (MPEG-4 AVC at 1 379 Kbps according to the description) in kaffeine... The error message for the latter is "No plugin found to handle this resource". Where can I get a decent codec pack for xine and/or yauap to forget about any problems like that? I had already installed codecs-kde.ymp from http://opensuse-community.org/Restricted_Formats/11.1. [opensuse] OpenSUSE 11.1 and Compiz (I know, again)

I had compiz working fine in 11 on athlon 3500 and geforce 6600, started on login by a little script ~/.kde/env/startcompiz: #!/bin/sh export KDEWM="fusion-icon" Unfortunately it stopped working after upgrade to 11.1 (done live on a running system). What is the canonical/recommended way to run compiz now? Preferably with my old settings.
