[opensuse] two monitors not working in open suse 11.0

Dear List, I used to have two monitors working simultaneously (defined in nvidia-settings as "two separate x screens") in open suse 10.3. Now with open suse 11.0, the "secondary" screen behaves in a weird way - windows appear without the "decoration part" (I mean where the x controls are .. "advanced, move to desktop, move, etc.". ) and I am not able to move the windows. Terminal windows just block completely. I am using KDE 3.X Any suggestions..? I thought that maybe it is because of some "leftovers" from my old configuration (I even deleted the file "Desktop1" but it did not help). [opensuse] PIXMA MP600 scanner

I am trying to configure PIXMA MP600. Card reader worked OOTB, printer required only installing Canon's drivers, but the scanner causes troubles. The scanner is detected, can be configured by YaST and passes YaST's test, but doesn't work with kooka or xsane. Kooka detects the scanner and initiates scanning, but does not return any image. Also scanning lasts until "stop" is clicked and locks the scanner, as it is unavailable to any other application (even YaST does not detect it anymore) until reboot of both the computer and the scanner. No error message is displayed. The only way I can get any image from the scanner is by scanimage command and I would prefer not to use CLI while scanning. [opensuse] USB Headset

I am trying to configure Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB™ Headset. Volume controller on the headset's cable works from the moment it is plugged in, I can also add USB sound card (USB Audio, Generic) in YaST (that worked for USB headsets and openSUSE 10.3) and set it as a primary sound card. Unfortunately, although the test sound is played all right, Amarok (nor any other application I tried) can't get a tone out of it and displays error message "Could not open audio device for playback". [opensuse] KDE4 System Tray Not Working

Last night, I updated KDE4 through Yast. Everything works well except for one thing, the system tray plasmoid. I have the system tray in a panel on the bottom of my desktop. Before the update, it showed everything that was running in the tray (as it should). Now, after the update, nothing shows up in the system tray. The tray plasmoid is there in the panel but no icons appear in the tray. The various apps that should show up there are apparently running as they should. They just don't show up in the tray. [opensuse] Werid Kmail and IMAP (Gmail) problem

I have gotten this error message three times now, one yesterday and two today regarding my IMAP account, which is Gmail, Could Not Delete Resource An attempt to delete the specified resource imaps://vendion%40gmail.com@imap.gmail.com:993/INBOX/;UID=7241 failed. Details of the request: URL: (unknown) Date and time: Tuesday 05 August 2008 11:58 am Additional information: imaps://vendion%40gmail.com@imap.gmail.com:993/INBOX/;UID=7241 Possible causes: Your access permissions may be inadequate to perform the requested operation on this resource. The specified resource may not exist. Possible solutions: Check your access permissions on this resource. Ensure that the resource exists, and try again. It doesn't say where the problem message is at, I have noticed that every time this came up there was a duplicte message in my Inbox that does not contain a body just a subject and a sender and a to address. [opensuse] Question about zypper

Does zypper really need to access the configured repositories just to remove an application, zypper rm? The reason I am asking is because my cable modem at my house kind of died and without knowing that zypper wouldn't even be able to remove a package without accessing the internet I bet you can guess the kind of shock I was in when zypper spit out the first error because it wasn't able to access a repo. If zypper does not need to refresh the repos just to remove a package can this be done in future versions to help save bandwidth of both the users and the servers, also make zypper rm usable without an active internet connection, I know that rpm -e works without internet connection, then again rpm doesn't even work with the repos as far as I know. [opensuse] Fond farewell to SuSE

I've been a happy SuSE user for a number of years now (since 5.0) as well as Linux since about 1993 (Yggdrasil). However, I just purchased a new workstation with CentOS5 preinstalled and I've decided to move to Centos for the time being. I do like SuSE, and will continue to support it at the BLU installfests, and I may remain on this list if I have the time. As I had previously mentioned, I put Ubuntu on my laptop because of a work requirement. [opensuse] Failing to modify repositories in Suse 10.3

Hello, I have a system running suse 10.3. Every time I try to install a package or modify the repository list I get and error message. I got this after trying to add community repositories: Exception Occured: Inconsistent Kind Exception Occured: SQL logic error or missing database Exception Occured: SQL logic error or missing database Exception Occured: SQL logic error or missing database YaST got signal 11 at YCP file /usr/share/YaST2/clients/inst_productsources.ycp:1149 /sbin/yast2: line 386: 31257 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2QT_ARGS Any ideas?
