[opensuse] Is openSuse 10.3 "ready" for production web server?

hi, on dedicated server I plan to take, they offer Debian 4.0, Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10, and osenSuse 10.2 and 10.3. [opensuse] what's wrong with the dependencies?

Hi List, I reinstalled the system, added the oss, non-oss, update, packman, videolan repositories through community repositories, did an update, and still I'm experiencing the problem I had earlier. First of all the openSuSE Updater will show me that I have an update of amarok and when I click to update it, the progress bar will go and then upon finishing it will show me again that there is the same update available. So when I go to the software management, I see that for example amarok-xine can be updated, but when I click on the update, it gives me "amarok-xine can not be installes due to missing dependencies", amarok-xine_... will be installed by user xine-lib is needed by amarok-xine +8 more and as a conflict resolution it says to install amarok althogh it will change the vendor/ install amarok /, ... but none of them works, if I just click install amarok it gives me 52 more dependency problems. Do you guys know what's going on? I did nothing bad, fresh install add the repositories and that's it... And that happend with a lot of packages, like java-sun-plugin, and many more... [opensuse] Mouse problems

I am running Suse 10.2. At first it worked fine. I just did a security update and now my mouse works very erratically. My keyboard also stopped working. I had tried going to 10.3 but I had to back it out because of the same problems. I have an Logitech Marble trackball and an HP keyboard. If noone can sugest a fix I will have to go to some other version of Linux. Right now I am reduced to using windows ugg. [opensuse] failure to enable 3d mode (whilst installing/setting up xgl)

I've got a new graphics card (Radeon X1650) and I was trying to get Xgl to run. When I tried to enable 3d (sax -r -m 0=fxglr), I got a segfault. [opensuse] Had to subscribe again today. Strange

The two messages that I posted about a half hour ago had been sent originally much earlier today. After they were sent the first time, I received messages from the list server telling me that they could not be posted because my address was not subscribed. In fact I have been subscribed for several months, and have posted here. My address has not changed, and my mailer knows only that one address to put into my From header; I do not use a separate Reply-to header. That the messages bore my correct From address is clear from the fact that the two refusal messages arrived in my inbox. What I did, of course, was to subscribe again, to the same address. My new subscription was accepted by the list server without a peep, without a remark that I was already subscribed. I have to conclude that the list server has tripped, and this is the second time this has happened. In all the lists that I have joined during the past twenty years (and the two that I have operated), I have never seen this to happen. Is this phenomenon known to the administrators of the list? [opensuse] Monitor resolution not as stated in Yast

Hello I just reinstalled OpenSuse 10.3 after Grub resulted in 99 99 99 .. or Error 21 after yesterday's update went wrong. Yast Sax2 X11 Configuration: Monitor: Card and Monitor Properties: Card: NVidia GeForce 6150 Monitor: ACR ACER AL2216W Properties: Resolution: 1680x1050 (WSXGA+) Colors: 16.7 Mio. (24 bit) (In reality this monitor like most big LCD now on the market only supports 16 bit, badly dithering to 24 bits: a marketing scam that should be met with a lucrative class action law suit, but i'm not in the USA). I am using the default open source driver, but the resolution currently in use is smaller then the one correctly recognised and stated by Yast. How can i correct this ? Hey , I'm using SIM and it has started disappearing from the task bar. Has anyone seen this? is there a fix? the program still works I just can't start a conversation cause my "buddy list" has gone. I'd load the old kernel on a USB key and put it back on your system. I have a Fedora box at home and I'm getting kernel panics with the later kernels when madwifi and NFS is run.
