[opensuse] ktorrent slow

After the kde 4.1.2 upgrade I can't get DHT to work (there is no mention of it under settings) and the torrent downloads are slow. I have: rpm -q ktorrent ktorrent-3.1.3-8.2 from pacman That is from logging out of 4.1 and logging back in again. On a similar box with ubuntu it's just a lot faster. Maybe I have to reboot too? [opensuse] Is it possible to "blacklist" specific download server in Yast?

Hi, I'm using OpenSUSE 11.0, KDE3. In older versions it was possible to chose servers for SW download/update (Yast suggested some based on "proximity", but you could chose another server. Currently it looks like server is selected automatically. I have persistent problem with the server for build service Mozilla: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.0. I could see that I'm redirected to ftp://dispenser.yandex.net/opensuse/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.0 and YaST times out consistently on that server. So I have to download manually from different mirror. Is it still possible to chose a server or to blacklist specific server? [opensuse] Compiz 0.7.8-25.1 - GLX will not stay enabled

Well, I think I know what is causing my issues with 0.7.8-25.1 I've installed it, killed my .emerald and .config/compiz directories I then tried configuring it using ccsm, just to find that the GLX plugin wouldn't stay configured. No output when launching ccsm & is delievered to the console, so I can't really give you any reason why. This is my production machine, so I'll try to duplicate on a different box to help find the issue. Does anyone succeeded to install Xerox Phaser 3117 laser printer in openSuSE 11.0? [opensuse] LCD resolution greater than native on ultra mobile Asus R2Hv

Hi List, I have installed openSUSE 11.0 on an Asus R2Hv ultra mobile PC. This umpc has a intel mobile celeron 1GHz, 1.2GB ram, 80GB HDD, Intel 915GM display, bluetooth, wlan, gps, and a built-in 7" touchscreen display. OpenSUSE recognises all the devices, and they all work with some configuration. All except the monitor. I can get the native resolution of 800x480 or also 640x480, but under Vista I can also select a higher resolution of 1024x600. Obviously I would like to get the resolution to go to 1024x600. When I have an external monitor attached, I can select 1024x600 or a standard 1024x768, so I assume the Intel 915GM display adaptor is capable of the resolution. [opensuse] Firefox 3.0 crashes when I try to print

Have anyone else seen this? Any suggestions for how to begin trouble shooting? This is on OpenSuse 10.2 installed from the Mozilla repos on download.suse.org for 10.2. [opensuse] update kde 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 factory repo

All the 4.1.2 files seem to be there as yast tells me in the installed/available dialogue but when I choose all in this list>update if newer version available I get hundreds of 'nothing provides' error usually because libqt4-x11>=4.4.3 needed by kdebase4-runtime-4.1.2.44.2.i586 I'm running a 64 bit amd with opensuse 11 x86_64 Shouldn't Yast handle the dependencies for me? I'm thinking that I must now manually update qt. But from where? Can anyone help me? I was just looking at an email from Novell and saw: openSUSE 11.1 (currently in development, to be released December 2008) I thought the current release schedule was every 8 or 9 months. Has Novell gone back to every 6 month? I hope so. [opensuse] Removing using -t pattern does not seem to work.

sudo zypper remove -t pattern gnome Reading installed packages... 'gnome' is not installed. Nothing to do. Note: sudo zypper search gnome | grep pattern | devel_gnome | GNOME Development | pattern i | gnome | GNOME Desktop Environment | pattern it shows as being installed. However, I cannot uninstall it.
