Hi - I am using SuSE10.2 and Yast Software updater is having troubles on a dependency resolution for kipi-plugins. Says Unresolved dependencies: Updating kipi-plugins-0.1.2-26.x86_64[System packages] to kipi-plugins-0.1.4-100.pm.2.x86_64[20080111-102132] There are no installable providers of libkdcraw.so.1()(64bit) for kipi-plugins-0.1.4-100.pm.2.x86_64[20080111-102132] So what does this ol user do about this? [opensuse] xen - adding virtual hardware

Hi First time sitting down and playing with Xen, I created a guest instance of Centos5, I installed from iso, using the gui tools but now I need to change that iso declaration to actual dvd rom, but I can't, when I shutdown and I open the details of the disks section, everything is greyed out, nothing is accessible, I tried adding a new disk, but nothing, the other tabs seemded to work, like modifying ram, is this the way this tool works? I absolutely need a working java plugin with firefox to access a website for my work. I was formally on 10.2 and an update broke this. I fixed it after regressing from Java 1.5 down to 1.4.2. I updated my computer to 10.3 in anticipation of a better solution. Sadly I am 64bit and this involved changing all my java and browser versions to 32bit ones. But having done that I have firefox and java and it seems to work for the sun java tester. However, it does not work for the website I need to use. Is there any simple way for me to revert to a java version 1.4.2 given that this is not in the yast repos for 10.3? I have java 1.5.0 update 13-0.5 installed ...but I also have the swt_3_2-gtk version of the swt.jar file installed (not certain whether that would be relevant)... [opensuse] Permissions and Catch-22

There are two partitions in my OS/2 installation that I wish to have available to Linux as well; they are formatted with JFS (OS/2 implementation, of course). I had no difficulty in doing this in openSuSE v10.2, but I am having a knotty problem with it now, in v10.3. In fstab, each of these partitions is mounted to its own subdirectory of /mnt. When I use a terminal in either subdirectory (whether as root or user) to get a directory of either partition, the answer is that the partition is empty. This was a nasty surprise, especially becauser the lines in fstab look all right to me. To try to get a handle on what is happening, I entered My Computer, and saw that the two partitions do appear in the right hand column, complete with correct sizes. Clicking on either one of them brought up a window populated with all the folders, and these are filled with all the files that should be there. Most of the folders are shown with padlocks, of course; a few are not, and I don't understand this either. Obviously, I can't do anything with the great majority of the folders and files. But I could, if only I could do some chmod commands in the terminal. But I can't use the terminal, because it sees nothing. Catch-22. Hi there, today i have applied (actually updater offered and i said 'yes') this update: xorg-x11-libs-7.2-103.2_103.4.i586.delta.rpm And since then, my primary tool (Eclipse Europa) is dead! Same happens on Sun JDK 1.6 and Sun JDK 1.5. Linux is openSuse 10.3 + videolan + packman reposes, regularly update HW: 32bit notebook, i915 video with i810 driver and Compiz + AIGLX Eclipse worked flawlessly until today. Today, the machine prompted for update, and after reboot the Eclipse (and Azureus!) was simply dead. cstamas@marvin:~/javadev/eclipse> ./eclipse The program 'Eclipse' received an X Window System error. [opensuse] Auto update fails at "evince"

I installed a fresh opensuse 10.3. When the auto update indicated that there were patches to be installed and it is executed, the installation process fails when the installer tries to install "evince". It gives a conflict dialogbox saying: No valid solution found with just resolvables of best architecture o. make a solver run with All possibilities. texlive-bin has missing dependencies o. delete texlive-bin. o.
