[opensuse] OOO 2.3.1 crashes on save

Hi all, I am hoping for some advice on the latest updates to OpenOffice. Windows pops up with: "Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed....." Similarly if you attempt to save as pdf it throws an error: "Error on saving Untitled 1 Wrong Parameter. The operation was started with an invalid parameter." Prior version I had installed worked the one before that had problems. Any hints on what might causing the problem? [opensuse] bashscripting (?) help in working with text files

Hello List! Through many pains I got the text file with some data and for plotting purposes I need to separate it into files... with minimal knowledge on bash scripting I was thinking maybe you could help me to figure that out... (I tried to sort that out by hand, but then realised it will probably take a month...) I have special lines in my text file so, I'd love to be able to script something like this read through lines if come to the string "bla bla bla"{ take the number after ": " on that string and put in file named "something"... } Maybe any references where I can read that, without going through "bash scripting for dummies"? :) Thanks in advance and sorry for offtop. [opensuse] unreadable email

Suse 10.2, kmail 1.9.6 I received an email from my mortgage company. It says it is .mbox. If I look at it in kmail it looks like html but when I save it and try to display it with konqueror it does not display correctly. Is there some setting I am missing that would allow it to display correctly? I tried to setup ktorrent under SUSE10.2 to download the SUSE11.0 developer alpha version. Followed the steps on http://software.opensuse.org/developer. Ktorrent keeps reporting authorization failure on the ip addresses. Is there something else I need to setup? Hello: I have udgraded to Adobe Reader 8.1.1 on openSUSE 10.3. Now when I double click a pdf file it's opened in its own Adobe Reader window. Every pdf in a new window. How can I get back the old behavior, ie opening a 2nd, 3rd etc. pdf in the same Adobe Reader window? [opensuse] KDE4 desktop icons

Hello. I am playing around with KDE4 and have a couple questions that have me stumped. I run dual monitors with a single spanned desktop under KDE 3.5. All of my icons are on the screen to the left, with nothing but open apps I move to the screen on the right. When I open KDE4, I get a few icons on the left monitor, and a whole bunch on the right. Some of them are duplicates. Those that aren't, particularly the ones I added to the desktop myself in 3.5 by right-click and "add program", can't be moved to the left screen. They just disappear off the left edge of the second monitor. Second, I can't figure out how to add programs to the desktop. I don't like using the menu, if I can help it. I prefer a small column of apps on the desktop. But if I select "Add widget..." there is nothing for adding a new command. For example, I have an icon under 3.5 that opens a shell and executes an SSH session. I can't figure out how to create an icon on the KDE4 desktop to do that. And I can't move the one that exists on my secondary screen over to my primary. If I choose the "Generic Icon" widget, there is no field under properties to enter a command to run. Can anyone help?
