Product: openSUSE 10.2 Severity: major Reproducible: always Summary: GTK+ file selectory freezes when running an application with an user that does not own the current GNOME session Details: Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Log in with a GNOME session (only GNOME is affected) 2. Open a GTK+ application as another user (for instance open "gedit" as root) 3. Open the GTK+ file selector ("File->Open" or "File->Save as...") 4. The application will freeze then. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Severity: minor Reproducible: always Summary: Mozilla Firefox uses an English dictionary to check spelling in a French environment Details: This is a small annoyance: even in a French environment Mozilla Firefox uses an English dictionary to check spelling in the text areas. It probably affects all non-English environments. [opensuse] upgrading Apache (Suse 10.0)

Hello, Currently running Apache/2.0.54 on an updated Suse 10.0 box and I'd like to upgrade Apache to version 2.0.59. Is there a way to this from rpms so as not to upgrade by recompiling? [opensuse] SD/MMC/XD Card Slot

For those who are curious and have a built-in SD card slot on a notebook, here's how to enable it. I have an HP Compaq nw9440 laptop with SUSE 10.2 and a built in SD-MS/Pro-MMC-SM-XD card slot. It doesn't work out of the box. [opensuse] missing device icons in KDE

Hi, using KDE 3.5.7 release 52.1 on pretty fresh opensuse 10.2. Even if I enable the display of the device icons on the desktop (Configure desktop settings/Behavior/Device Icons) and selecting all of the choices there, no device icons appear on the desktop, not a single one. Restarting the session after the change did not help either. [opensuse] Evolution and dragging object to folder highlighting

I dont like to drag objects with the mouse, but sometimes its just the easiest to move a mail item in Evolution to a different folder. When I do this in 2.8 or 2.10 the destination folder does not highlight to indicate that Im focusing the drop on that particular folder - is this just a Suse thing? or a Evolution issue? Just copied over the new icon and I'm getting the same error. [opensuse] Triple screen options

Hi guys, I'm Looking for your experiences using three (or possibly more) monitors under Linux? We use two to three screens at work (depending on our exact requirements). Using two screens on a dual-head card works mostly OK, at least for my legitimate work needs (some things like fullscreen mplayer don't behave so nicely, but that's not essential), but as soon as you run three or more screens and have to use two graphics cards, things get a little messy. Xinerama, for one, breaks hardware 3D, and some things behave weirdly. I am not sure if this is Xinerama's fault, or if it is a side effect from having two physical cards. I have noticed that, even if the two cards are identical the second card always performs much worse than the first one, even though the first one is driving two screens. By identical I mean an AGP and PCI that are otherwise the same (Radeon 7000 - PCI is way fast enough for this), or two PCI cards - doesn't seem to make a difference. I've looked online at cards like the Matrox G450 Quad, and wondered if anyone has experience running these under linux. How well does things like 3D and hardware overlay (as in MPlayer fullscreen with xv without trying to fullscreen over all the screens) work? [opensuse] Setting up wireless card in opensuse

Hello, Last week, installed opensuse on my laptop. I have a compaq WL100 11mb/s card and I need to setup a wireless connection on my laptop. I tried using yash but could not be to do it. I see wlan0 and wifi0 list in my ifconfig command and when I tried to connect to my network, I could not able to see a ipaddress on the wlan0 interface. I can see the RX count increasing on wlan0 but no ipaddress. I tried dhcpcd wlan0 (and disabled all iptable rules) but it timeout after some time. Any help is very much appreciated. [opensuse] triple boot : Vista, SuSE and Ubuntu

ubuntu is quite tempting :D i would like to hv it install on my laptop. currently i have dual boot for my Vista and SUSE already.
