I did delete the sound card in YAST on 10.2 and re-configured it. Now the mixer window comes up with sliders (no "leds") and KMix doesn't have the little red x anymore. [opensuse] SUSE 10.0: USB audio static noise

Hi all, I have a couple of different USB audio devices that works under SUSE 10.0, but they all exhibit a nasty burst of static/noise when changing songs (it happens with all player apps). Sometimes the noise also occurs when the player is open but not playing (in stopped state). The noise disappears when the song starts playing. I tested on three different computers, two desktops and one laptop and the same thing happens under SUSE 10.0, but there is no noise under Win XP on the same computers. I think I could rule out any hardware issues due to the above. It's more likely to be a USB audio driver issue. Anyone else here excounter the same problem? Any solution? My SUSE 10.0 has the "stock" 2.6.13 kernel but with all YOU updates applied. [opensuse] Replaced ALL HW: Tyan S2469 Athlon MP still hangs OpenSuSE 10.2

Tearing out my hair on this one... A few months ago, a new kernel caused printing to freeze the system, but I don't think that's related (have tried all BIOS settings; one-way, ECP, EPP). The first symptom was (your not going to believe it) Firefox tabs quit responding to the mouse. (That seemed to be fixed after replacing the motherboard... but, I'm getting ahead of the story.) System started hanging a few weeks ago. No error messages... just hangs tight. I was playing w/ some new hardware and had to power-cycle a lot, so I figured I killed some HW. I removed a processor... didn't fix it; replaced the running processor, with the one I took out... didn't fix it. I tried running one stick of RAM at a time... didn't fix it. Removed all peripherals, swapped video cards, disabled USB, printer, and serial in the BIOS, replaced the SCSI card, replaced SCSI w/ IDE (same image)... didn't fix it. Replaced the motherboard, with new processors... didn't fix it. Put all the PCI adapters/devices/video disks on a newer Intel motherboard... it works... no hangs! So, I'd figure it was the kernel... but I haven't changed kernels (as I used a fixed-frequency monitor and need the Matrox driver built-in) and hadn't allowed any of the Yast updates to update the kernel. [opensuse] openSuSE 10.3 display resolution problem

I have installed openSuSE 10.3 alpha 5 and I have an odd problem when setting display resolution. In sax2 it is correctly reported as 1440x900, but actually it is 1024x768 and I cannot change it from the desktop (right click, configure desktop, display, etc.) Is there a way to solve this? [opensuse] Loosing KDE settings (again)

Hi, Im goint try this again, Im running KDE 3.4 on openSUSE 10.2. Couple of reboots ago I started loosing my keyboard and mouse settings. Single click, keyboard repeat, mouse acceleration is all messed-up. When I go to the Configure Panel and click on the Default button the correct settings are displayed, when I then Apply everything works normally, until a restart looses it again. Where are the settings kept? and what program loads them? I have qt4.3.0-69.1 and family on my 10.2 system which I got from online update. The Skype engineers are telling me that this version is buggy and has been replaced by .2, .3 and now .4 which is the latest and solves some problems they are seeing. What are the chances of SUSE providing the latest qt4 and family as an RPM ?
