[opensuse] New Samba acting up

Hiya.. I got a new Samba for my SUSE 10.1 x86_64 by automatic update last night, and now all of a sudden my Vista workstation won't connect to the shares automatically. I have the machine as a domain controller with LDAP backend, and it's been working flawless until the new update to samba-3.0.22-13.32. My log.smbd shows this as the workstation logs in, and asks for username/password, which it has NEVER done before: [2007/07/20 10:31:25, 0] smbd/server.c:main(805) smbd version 3.0.22-13.32-1354-SUSE-CODE10 started. Then I tried to use the "expanded" net use format, like this: net use * \\beata\firman /U:NORRBRING\anders "the_password" and that worked fine. Next attempt was: net use * \\beata\firman /U:NORRBRING\anders Then it asked for password, and I hit <enter> and got connected to the share. Any ideas on all of this? I´t is an intersting thing, because i don´t have to restart pc, only X-window, so that it is faster. [opensuse] kdewallet forgets kmail password

Hello, I made a new email account in kmail. I say "remember password" wherever I find this option, but kdewallet forgets it after user log out . How can I tell kdewallet to please remember that password? Thanks for hints Daniel -- additional details: When I open kmail for the first time after login, it asks me for the kdewallet password. After entering it, a dialog appears, asking me for the pop password of the said new account. To see what happens I opened kdewallet: after clicking "ok" in the password dialog ("remember password" checked) a new account-number is added into the kmail tree within kdewallet and I can see the correct password. But as soon as I log out as user and log in again, that account number is not existent anymore. All other accounts/passwords work, just the new one gets forgotten every time. Distro: OpenSuSE 10.2 Kernel: 2.6.18.2-34-default Driver: sym53c8xx System: Tyan S2469NG dual AMD MP 2600 My old 2469 motherboard broke, so I bought a new one, w/o the built-in Adaptec SCSI, but w/ a Symbios 53C896... so everything is the same as what worked last week, except SCSI. Upon driver load, it goes nuts and takes a few Ethernet devices down at the same time. First, I need to boot w/ "noapic" or the system will hang during boot. The hangs occur when the drivers for the other devices (that it shares interrupts with) load. The LSI BIOS sees the SCSI drives w/o problem. Just a quick question. Since SP1, has there been any available updates? The reason i ask, is because since SP1 install i have not gotten any notice of updates. I even have packman repo in my installation source. Packman has updates just about once a week and i have not even gotten any notice about packman updates. [opensuse] Whither the KDE3 Repository for 10.0?

Hi, Today I ran YaST Software Management for the first time in a few weeks. It failed to update one of my repositories: <http://software.opensuse.org/download/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.0> It gave a 404 error, so I used a browser to try to see what was up. As I stepped down from the root, <http://software.opensuse.org/>, through the directories in that URL, I found that when I added "repositories" I ended up back in "download." Then I noticed there's a KDE: directory there, so I figured one level was removed from the directory structure. And sure enough, if you just remove that segment of the URL I was using you get this: <http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.0> Which does appear to be a repository. However, when I configure this as an installation source, I get an alert saying: "There is no product information available at the given location ..." What should I use to access this repository?
