[opensuse] SLED 10 SP1 Beta 6

Hi list, I've aquired SLED 10 SP1 Beta 6 from brainshare last week. I've installed it fine but i'm having troubles getting my ati radeon x1600 driver installed. I've followed all the steps located at http://en.opensuse.org/Howto/ATI_Driver without any luck.. When i run sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx the screen goes blank and i'm unable to do anything from there.. I've heard people having the same problems where they had to disable a few things on xorg.conf.. I've done that and its still happing. Can someone please help me debug this problem? what information do i need to find out? PS: it appears there are no errors in sax2.log, it appears it just freezes. Hi, I have had wonderful luck with an acer aspire 5100 series using 10.2, among others. [opensuse] Foreign characters in Konqueror

Hi all, I have Konqueror installed with openSUSE 10.2 in UK-English language preference as standard. Some files it should display are using the German 'umlaut' characters in their names. How can I setup Konqueror to display these characters in stead of Ä¼ for "ü" (Unicode UTF-8 ?). [opensuse] Another Beagle Question - http interface?

Joe, I just saw your e-mail about being the main beagle developer. I have an OpenSUSE 10.2 box running as a samba server. I've added the creation of a beagle index to my nightly backup script and from X I can search the archive. (minimal testing). What I would really prefer to do is make the search available to users via a http interface. Is there a SUSE recommended way to do that? [opensuse] adding network printer problems [SOLVED - ALMOST]

I got the printers added. I can see them in Open Office, but they did not print when I ran the Print Test Page function when I added them. [opensuse] Program to autoexecute html page on dvd/cd

Dear all, I'm a newbie at linux and I've just installed open SUSE 10.2 on my system. Does anyone know of a program that will automatically execute html page when a dvd/cd containing the page is inserted into the ODD? Previously I've used shellexec on windows.
