[opensuse] Blocking foreigners!

Is it possible to configure IPTables to only allow connections from a particular country? Is there an online list of all the subnets used in each country? I have a webserver which I only want UK residents accessing but I've not been able to determine a complete list of IP's If I just blocked all non-RIPE addresses that would restrict me to Europe only but there doesn't seem to be a list per country, does that mean they're all mixed up? Okay, in the past few days, I've added a ton of repositories to SMART, figured out how to upgrade firefox to 2.0, added a bunch of new KDE thingies, fixed my KWallet so I can use WPA encryption on my WiFi, upgraded to Pan .124 and... ...everything's working fine. [opensuse] KNetworkManager Weirdness

Yesterday evening, when I got home from work, I fired up my laptop. After a while, I went to check messages and found it wasn't on the intraweb. I looked and saw KNetworkManager wasn't running in the system tray. Restarting it by going to root and typing in the command did nothing. I - being a good Windows user - rebooted a few times for good measure. I also rebooted my D-Link router, which has been working fine with this laptop since I got in in July '05. This morning I got on and the same thing. I could not connect to my SSID, even with KNetworkManager now running. I COULD connect to my neighbors' unencrypted WiFi networks. Why? Well, superposing printed pages from before and now, and looking with a strong light behind the paper, I notice that line space and paragraph spacing has increased! So... well, I still have a partition with 10.1, so I boot it up, load the same file, look at the paragraph spacings, and... it is the same: 0.04" above and below a paragraph, and single spacing or .20" from line to line. I can only conclude that an inch (or a centimeter) is different in both versions of SuSE... or something of the sort. How come? It appears that I have to change spacing to .16" to get the same result. Another hypothesis. ¿Could it be that the same font is bigger in 10.2 than it was in 10.1? I'm using Times and Helvetica... As far as I can see, comparing printed results, Times 11 prints the same. Well, the same width, the height I can't judge. But a line in Times 14 is shorter! Another weird thing... some title lines (times 12, bold) print in cursive at low resolution and non cursive at high res - hold on, it is using "times" instead of "Times", and "times" does not exist. Has no effect on the page length. [opensuse] Trouble installing Nvidia Driver

Kernel: 2.6.18.2-34-default #1 SMP Video Card: evga GeForce 6200 A-LE When I try to install (using yast) the following nvidia-gfx-kmp-default - NVIDIA gfx driver kernel module x11-video-nvidia - nvidia GL drivers They get installed without any problems. I then go to hardware / Graphics Card and Monitor, the changes are there. When I say OK and I test the configuration, It tells me the test configuration failed. And tells me to look at the Xorg.99.log. Any Ideas what is going on, I have done this with older kernels and it worked fine. I even tried Mandrake 10.1 and it installed and loaded the Nvidia drivers just fine. I have no desire to use Mandrake and hope someone will be able to help. [opensuse] konqueror ftp problem

When dragging files down from my remote webserver to a backup directory on my desktop konq tells me that the file I'm attempting to replace is newer than the one on the server when it in fact isn't. FireFTP seems to do a better job but doesn't inspire confidence as not all modified files get changed. gftp segfaults randomly beyond repair. Can ftp be used like this to sync two versions one local and one remote? Any advice? [opensuse] Suse 10.1 - suidperl isn't setuid - what's the right way to fix this?

On my SUSE 10.1 system, suidperl doesn't have its setuid bit set. Normally this would be easy to fix -- just set it. But /usr/bin/suidperl and /usr/bin/perl appear to be hardlinks to the same file, so if I set the suid bit on /usr/bin/suidperl, *all* perl scripts end up running as root -- definitely *not* what I want! Why doesn't it notice that it is mail bulk list, and refuse to bounce? [opensuse] Flash

So I installed Flash 9 from tarball onto my computer. It works pretty well except on some sites, drop down menus will go behind images or I'll get a lot of grey in some areas. Anyone else experience that? If so, how did you fix it?
