[opensuse] help about php5 and utf8

Hello. I wrote last year a php script to create photo dvd's with comments, using the exif comments. example of the result: http://media.dodin.free.fr/galerie_photo_web/public/dvd/index.html manual in french http://dodin.org/mediawiki/index.php/CEDA now, with php5, I have minor problems. the accents are no more displayed correctly. I know little about php - I use this language because I started with a php script from an other source (but had then, alas, to rewrite it almost entirely). [opensuse] Lightscribe.

Does anyone know of any other software than the simply label maker for Linux that is available from Lightscribe? It is marginal....that is, it works fine, but the features are less than "modest." I've check all commercial listings I can find, and of course, they're all brain dead and only support MickySoft with a few MAC offerings. Thanks! [opensuse] OpenOffice "crashes" on exit from slideshow

Hi all, I have SuSE 10.2 installed, and have just noticed that if I present a slideshow in OpenOffice (the version bundled with 10.2) the thing "crashes" when you exit a slideshow. It's curious, it doesn't seem to die per se, nor do any damage, but it insists that it crashed and must recover the file. Maybe it really did crash, but the file didn't really need recovery, since no changed had been made. It doesn't (so far at least) seem to damage anything, but it's a bit odd, and slightly worrying. 10.2 beta 2

Today was supposed to be the day for 10.2 beta 2 to be released. So far I have not been able to locate it. Does anyone have insight into when this will appear? Cheers, Bob

[opensuse] Keyboard gone Craaaziiiiiey

10.2 has just been upgraded by bits relating to KDE and now my keyboard not only will not register keystrokes but I had to turn off the key repeat feature because pressing any keyproduc ces a non-ending rpeat of thatkey. Is none else experiencing this or is my Logiteh keyboard/mouse combo on its last legs of a 3-year illustrious career? [opensuse] Need explanation - question 1

Hello SuSE people Recently installed 10.2 on a new hard drive. Triple boot all on their own harddrives. I gave 10.2 a 3GB partition for / I also made separate partitions for /tmp, /var, and /home, each 10GB in size. I went to update 10.2 and was warned that the / partition is 97% full. How can that be? Does everthing on the DVD install into / ?? Now, do I have to reinstall 10.2 after making the / partition much larger ?? Some please explain what the problem is here. Please ?? [opensuse] Installing jre-6-linux-i586-rpm.bin

Hy, I'm using openSUSE 10.2 I downloaded jre-6-linux-i586-rpm.bin and followed the instructions to install. So I changed to su ,without that it did not work, gave chmod a+x jre-6-linux-i586-rpm.bin followed by ./ jre-6-linux-i586-rpm.bin , which did not work. So I tried sh jre-6-linux-i586-rpm.bin That gave the reaction line 305 ./install.sfx.17957: access refused What should be the right approach?
