Converting info files to html

Someplace I've seen (or I think I've seen) a utility for converting Gnu info files to HTML, but I haven't succeeded in retrieving its name. What is it called and where can I find it? Paul

What did I do wrong? Is this a bug?

I have a issue with a user account that's getting "Permission denied" to any attempt to create a new file or new directory in the user's home directory (/home/rfs). (There's no problem creating files in any existing subdirectory of /home/rfs or copying existing files to the /home/rfs directory). Before attempting anything drastic, I'm trying to migrate the user to a new account. What I did was in Yast2 user management, I first rename the existing users login from rfs to rfsx without changing the home directory, then created a new user with the login "rfs" and assigned a home directory in "/home1/rfs" which resides in a different file system. The problem is that when logged in to the new "rfs" account, the system become very slow in it's response. It takes very long time to get the gnome UI, and takes over a minutes to start Firefox. Yast2, however, starts normally, so I think the slowliness has something to do with accessing the files in the new user account's home directory. I tested the IO of the /home1 file system and it is satisfactory. Is it a bad idea to reuse a previously used login? x86-64 10.1 update

I've updated my 10.1 32 bit boxes no problem but the 64 bit server sits there for an hour via yast with 'Contacting server...' Any ideas anyone? Cheers, Steve.

[opensuse] SUSE newbie - graphics problem

Hello all ! I just installed OpenSUSE on my system and I really like it. However I am facing some graphics issues. my screen seems to flicker all the time . It gets worse when I try to access internet using browser. My video card is Trident TGUI 9660. I have been wanting to replace the card but before I wanted to make sure if anyone had this problem before? i would appreciate any pointers ! Nikhil

KMix problem solution?

Hey guys & gals, Don't know if there are some still experiencing problems with kmix starting up with KDE or not, but I think I found a simple solution. I thought I had it solved a couple of times already, but it kept coming back, as many here have experienced as well. I went into the Settings>Configure KMix and unchecked "Restore Volumes on login". Restarted KDE and guess what? No KMix! Don't know if that will work for you or not, but it seems to be the solution here. regards, Lee

Ecasound for SuSE-10.1???

Till SuSE-8.2 I used Ecasound "Multitrack audio processing tools". Ideal to convert from any format to another and to capture an audio signal simultaneously as .wac or .cdr and .mp3 or .ogg files. With SuSE-10.1, Ecasound disappeared. No more .rpm package! Very difficult to compile manually the program because of dependencies problems, I suppose. Does anyone know where to find an rpm package of ecasound for SuSE-10.1-x86_64? Or another program that works, not Audacity that crashes irreversibly (icon "null" and go to hell). Of course there is Sox, oggenc, lame but ecasound was so easy to use. Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out how to create the html portion of a mail with images in. It looks something like this: <img src="cid:image.gif"> and then at the end of the mail: Content-Type: image/gif; name="image.gif" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="image.gif" Content-ID: <image.gif> It looks as if all I have to do is encode the image with base64, dump the contents and paste that output into the mail. Is this right? How do I encode an image with base64? Thanks Hans
