Hi List I get the following errors when I try and run yast. These used to work: ERROR(Media:file not found)[HTTP return code: 404 (URL: http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/…) Is this repository no longer valid? If that's true is there a replacement to use for KDE updates? [SLE] 10.1 and kdes' konsole font?

Can anyone tell me how to get that perfect default 'Linux' font back that has been in konsoles' font selection menu for so long. I assume it is one of the fonts listed in what is now the selection menu but there isn't one called 'Linux'. Anyone know which one it might be?? [SLE] konqueror and fish://

Having recently discovered fish:// for konqueror, I've been trying out a few things. It's interesting to note that while some applications work just fine with remote files via fish://, others such as openoffice and gimp do not. [SLE] Keeping previous kernel installations

When I upgrade to any subsequent kernel that SuSE updates to, my current kernel package get removed. How do configure the 10.0 and 10.1 to NOT remove the older kernel but just make it available to boot at anytime? [SLE] 10.1 Browser problem

Hi all.. I'm guessing that I've just overlooked something. I setup my 10.1 system with apache, mysql, and php so I can look at my web site before I upload it. Anyway I'm getting a 404 error. [SLE] Jengelib Kernel 2.6.18 Questions

Hi, Anyone have used jengelib kernel: kernel-default-2.6.18_rc1-jen27.i586.rpm 1) Which userspace programs will not work after update (apparmor for sure)? Which packages are required to make everything work again (typical desktop + LAMP + shorewall). 2) I am was unable to compile nvidia kernel module for kernel-default-2.6.18_rc1-jen27.i586.rpm. After "cloneconfig" and "make prepare" nvidia installer states that there are no version information. I installed suse10.1, when i tried to setup online update configuration it is giving one of the following errors: 1) curl: (60) SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed More details here: http://curl.haxx.se/docs/sslcerts.html curl performs SSL certificate verification by default, using a "bundle" of Certificate Authority (CA) public keys (CA certs). The default bundle is named curl-ca-bundle.crt; you can specify an alternate file using the --cacert option. If this HTTPS server uses a certificate signed by a CA represented in the bundle, the certificate verification probably failed due to a problem with the certificate (it might be expired, or the name might not match the domain name in the URL). If you'd like to turn off curl's verification of the certificate, use the -k (or --insecure) option. or 2) Execute curl command failed with '7': curl: (7) couldn't connect to host How do I install the Certificate and where do I get it from? [SLE] On-demand caching local mirror?

I'm wondering if anyone can come up with an answer. I'm after a piece of software that will "mirror" an ftp directory (as an example) locally, but will not retrieve the files unless read. I'm sort of thinking of a FUSE sort of local filesystem. i.e. The SUSE updates repository. 1. Set up a local folder. 2. Get the remote file list. 3. An app requests a file. 4. If in local cache, return file, goto 3 5. If not local, and if connection closed, reopen. 6. Try to retrieve, then return file, goto 3 (every so often (on mount, once/day) repeat 2) The point being that I have multiple machines I want to update, so I don't want to waste bandwidth by a) downloading the kde updates repeatedly, or b) replicating the whole folder with updates for packages I haven't installed. It seems like this would be a sensible addition to SUSE for those of us with multiple machines, (applying to virtual ones too.) I've googled, and gone through lots of pages, but I can't find something that operates like this. The closest I seen so far is fuseftp. The two problems I can see with this are 1. I think the cache expiry time is specified in seconds, and I can't see if there is an indefinate (i.e. passing 0) 2. I think it holds the ftp connection open while it is mounted, which wouldn't be good for the servers, with people holding connections open.
