KDE,ssh-agent and cervisia problems

HI: I have a problem, I 'cant integrate the ssh-agent with kde and cervisia. I've used some of the methods described here: http://www.topology.org/linux/kde.html http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-kde/2003-Jan/0029.html http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/cervisia/2004-October/000088.html but no luck, cervisia keeps asking for the passphrase .. Im Using SUSE 9.2 on a amd64 box with KDE 3.4 (supplementary updates) any idea?

user logins screw up hardware info.

This has happened to me before, and it still happens with SUSE 9.3 and KDE 3.4 I have 2 users on this system. NORMALLY when I have to reboot the system, I log on first, and then my wife. This way, I have no problen burning CD's. When my wife reboots the system ( she still uses XP for a few things) and she logs in first, when I log in, and try to burn a CD, it doesn't give me any options for devices to use. I switched user to my wife last night and was able to burn an ISO image I had saved, so I know my burner works, but only under her login ( or maybe it is only the first user that logs in?) any clues/comments/suggestions?? -- Paul Cartwright Registered Linux user # 367800 X-Request-PGP: http://home.comcast.net/~p.cartwright/wsb/key.asc

YAST won't let me create a swap partition on the sd* drive. Should I just create one in fstab and pray it comes up after a reboot? Unknown keys at APT repositories?

My apt is falling flat over unknown gpg keys while trying to do an apt-get install of an rpm package. In fact, it's not just these packages -- I ran a apt-get upgrade, and something like 50% of the packages downloaded come up with the MISSING KEY message. I've never had this problem with apt before -- has anyone else? Could this be a repository problem, or might it be something on my end? Do I need to upgrade apt?

moving swap partition from sys drive to RAID drive

Hello, There are several things I want to accomplish. First, I want to move a swap partition form an hd* system drive to an sd* RAID drive. Second, I want to reclaim the extra space on the hd* drive for "/" space and, lastly, not destroy the data that is on the RAID drive. Can't write to download directory for temporary files

Hi you, can you tell me where in konqueror I can change the default download directory for temporary files? I was looking in "Configure Konqueror" and inside some config files, but without success yet. For example, when I go onto "http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/3608958177/028-8254727-6130121" and click onto the link named "Größeres Bild" which referes to "http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/3608958177.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg" konqueror tries to download the file into a temporary directory in order to display it, but then instead I get the following error: Access denied Could not write to /backup/SuSE-9.3/3608958177.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg I really don't know how this became the default directory when downloading temporary files, but where can I change it again? I couldn't find it! Thanks in advance Martin

9.3 and mailman

Hi, I have mailman installed: wedmore:/usr/lib/mailman # rpm -qa | grep mailman mailman-2.1.5-16 But not only does newlist not output the settings I must add to /etc/aliases but there doesn't seem to be a file called wrapper with which to setup /etc/aliases. Is mailman broke in 9.3? Dave.

Starting ndiswrapper on boot-up

Folks, I've just gotten ndiswrapper to function with my wireless pcmcia card, thanks to some on-line lists. Now I can kiss Driverloader good-bye, helpful tho it's been. But in reading Novell's ndiswrapper set-up procedure, the instructions don't say precisely where to put ndiswrapper -m so that it starts up on boot. I'm trying to avoid having to go su then do a modprobe ndiswrapper every time I want to use my wireless link. I'd like to get ndiswrapper going somewhere between pcmcia startup and network startup so that when the ntd daemon starts farther down the line, it actually picks up the external time servers rather than giving me a "failed" status. Perhaps there's even a way to get ndiswrapper to show up in the system services section of yast2, where it can be associated with run-levels? Best, Pete
