Reboot filesystem corruption

If I reboot or shutdown and boot, the filesystem is corrupted and boot stalls midway thru starting up services. Suspsend to swap and resume does not have this problem. Booting the rescue disk and running fsck on both root and home partition (ext3 and ReiserFS, respectively) fixes the problem. It is fairly consistent when it stalls if I try booting again. But when changes after FS repair. fscking the root partion alone is not sufficient. fscking both partitions works. IBM T41 ThinkPad. SuSE 9.2. Has anyone seen anything like this and have a solution? Two internet connections

Hi guys, I posted about this problem before, got no reply, but I did stumble upon this link: http://linux-ip.net/html/adv-multi-internet.html Scroll down to "10.4.2. Inbound traffic Using Multiple Connections to the Internet" to see what I'm on about. My problem is similar, except the one interface is the internal network, and gets internet from a nat firewall connecting to adsl, and forwarding port 25 to the mail server. It looks like so: eth0: static IP connected to router/leased line - 196.5.10.15 (for arguments' sake eth1: 192.168.16.4 default gateway is 192.168.16.5 Connections are coming in via the adsl (which is around 8 times faster than the leased line) and I'm trying to get the least line to act as a backup line. According to the above link, what I have to do translates roughly into: ip route add nat <ext_IP_of_firewall> via 192.168.16.5 BUT, the ext_IP_of_firewall in this case is dynamic (using dyndns to get connections to the right IP. Sow how do I do this with a dynamic IP? Or let's break this down further. How do I force connections that come in via eth0 to be answered via eth0, and similarly connections coming in via eth1 to be answered via eth1, regardless of gateway? Mgetty - Permission denied on .bash_profile

Greetings Could someone please assist here, When I login via ssh or directly on the PC as chadley it is fine, but when I login with mgetty I get this error, anyone know why? ns login: chadley Password: You have new mail in /var/mail/chadley. wvdial /mincom uucp?

Greetings, I have a system that currently uses uucp uucico etc to copy files to and from a SCO-Unix server. The problem is getting uucico to dial. With the new hardware we are forced to use newer distros and this is causing thing to go wrong with the uucp. The nice thing about uucp is it only copies the files that belong to the client doing the copying. for example: if in the default spool/uucp dir I have file for host1 host2 and host3 , when host2 dials in it only downloads the files which to which it is the owner Is there a way to invoke uucp with wvdial or minicom vi a bash / sh script? Help - Yast printers hangs!

Hi: Suse 9.1: Yast2:Hardware|Printer just hangs after 50% of "Loading current settings" Any idea how I can fix this? Not very nice when system config tools hang. Thanks. Out of scan range.

Hi Im having problems with my new screen, where at boot time i get a message "out of scan range 37.1KHz 50HZ" And only when KDE has started and i get the login screen the piccture shows. I cant even go into BIOS cause i dont see anything until its booted. What can i do about this? I had problems with my old screen also like when i shutdown via the kmenu the screen switches off and doesnt come back on. i had to type "shutdown -h now". Also if i change the resolution with SAX when i get to the test window the screen switches off and now {crtl alt del} or {ctrl alt bs} helps. Anyone knows how to resolve this? Thanx
