nis client login trouble

Hi, New to this mailing... After setting a machine as a SUS Linux 9.2 client I cant NIS login. I can change my passwd with yppasswd but when I login with debug set in /etc/security/pam_unix2 module I get the following error: "pam_unix2: Wrong password, return PAM_AUTH_ERR" in /var/log/messages on client. I successfully do a ypwhich, ypcat, ypmatch...etc. The NIS passwd I get back appears to be an encrypted 64 alpha-numeric string??? I can login on the server with the new password but not from the client. Thanks, Alan

Hi guys, I'm following these directions: http://www.delouw.ch/linux/Postfix-Cyrus-Web-cyradm-HOWTO/html/index.html Does anyone know of a SUSEfied rpm or srpm for pam_mysql? Don't worry Art, I've been running SUSE 9.3 for some time and I can honestly tell you that I cannot get none of the Nvidia site drivers to work and the Yast online update does not work either. I was able to get them working with 9.0 9.1 9.2 and that's it! I've searched and tried every single suggestion out there and I even tried changing my video card to a different one in yast; just to see, with no luck! There is some huge discussions going on over at the Nvidia Linux forum about the GO series video cards having issues on other laptops, including Compaq and HP. For the record, I am running your same exact resolution as you. JD

postfix and procmail

I am trying to get postfix to work with procmail but I am missing something somewhere. I have amavisd-new-2.2.1-5 included in the mail process as per its instructions. I created a /etc/procmailrc file with a couple of rules: *************************************************** LOGFILE=/var/log/procmail.log VERBOSE=yes #LOGABSTRACT=all # Send all mail through SpamAssassin :0fw: spamassassin.lock * < 256000 | spamassassin # drop most spam :0 h * ^X-Spam-Level: \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* /dev/null *************************************************** I know this is a little aggressive for spam, but this machine should only receive list mail and little else. I use my ISP email address for all other email. I think sa is being called directly by postfix but not sure, it might be called by amavis. I think I need to set procmail as the local delivery agent but have not been able to find any docs on how to do this. main.cf and master.cf files available on request, off list, due to the size of the files and that the list does not allow attachments. mounting problem

lsusb & suse 9.2

Hi Last night 'lsusb' command gave me a headache. I have been using SuSE 9.2 (stock kernel, YOU - nothing special) for months. After entering (almost by accident) 'lsusb' my older Acer Power SC computer stuck - crashed completely. To be as short as possible: lsusb - crashes computer lsdev - OK usbview - OK sane-find-scanner - I have to plug off my box hwscan --usb - gives me nothing (at least the crash does not occur) If I enter 'lsusb' remotely (via ssh) then it works, but 'sane-find-scanner' (also via ssh) freezes my box. Then I decided to plug in USB mouse and USB keyboard instead of PS/2 ones. It works. Then I tried my Sony DSC-P72. Again no problem. USB is working. The ' cat /proc/bus/usb/devices' reveals all. I have tried 'noapic, acpi=off'. In BIOS I switched 'USB legacy mode'. Always the same sad story. At work I have repeated the same steps on the same model and with SuSE 9.2. The system froze. With SuSE 9.0 on the same model everything is working. With newer Acer model (Power F1), 'lsusb' works. Well it is time to give 9.3 a try. Once upon a time there was a SuSE sentence 'Have a fun'. Does anybody has just a little clue (not to mention that W2K are OK as far as USB is concerned) ?? Regards Zvone Zagar

Firewall for NFSServer under Suse 9.3

The NFS server appears to be blocked by the firewall under Suse 9.3. Having disabled the firewall, NFS server will serve quite happily. I then looked into the yast2 firewall settings, it does a. put all interfaces to be the "external" zone, b. NFS Client and Server are listed as allowed services for External zone. So why NFS server is not working with firewall enabled? Puzzled.
