Help with firewall (Togan ?)

Hi, I'm having a problem with my firewall setup. When I shut it off, I can get out to the 'Net, but when I set it up in Quick-mode I can't. My setup : eth0 is the external device eht1 is the internal device No services are offered to the Internet, but the linux-box is a dhcp- and dns-server. Maybe one additional remark : if I disable the firewall I can't get out, unless I disable ip-forwarding, and re-enable it. Any pointers ? Problems with sound card "82801 EB AC'97 Audio Controller"

Hello, I installed SuSE 9.0 and I have problems with the configuration of the sound card "82801 EB AC'97 Audio Controller". Under Windows XP it is working well. Under Linux I can hear some thing, but it is too low (the volume is set to 100). Under sound card advanced options (YaST) I can see: Description - Option - Value AC`97 codec clock (0=auto-detect) - snd_ac97_clock - 0 Joystick port address for Intel i8x0 soundcard - snd_joystick_port - MPU401 port # for Intel i8x0 driver - snd_mpu_port - I will appreciate if somebody can gave me a hit to resolve this problem. Mainboard issues ...

I'm looking for a mainboard, for AMD 64 and was wondering what experience the list has of these motherboards, and which one they can recommend. Albatron K8X800 Pro II Asus K8V Deluxe Shuttle AN50R nForce3 150 These are the three mainboards available, the Asus board is quite expensive so I'm looking into the two others. Would appreciate any advice.

where is slocate?

I was just reading an article on a program called slocate. It looks really cool for finding files but I don't seem to have it on my SUSE box. It seems to be specific to Fedora/Redhat. Linksys wlan card not working in 9.0

Hi, I have a linksys WPC11 version 3 wireless card which worked fine and dandy in 8.2. Now in 9.0, which runs ifup-dhcp for me whenever I start the network, the error message I get is signal 0/92 . The machine is able to connect to the internet through the eth0 card, but when I use the pcmcia card, despite the fact that I can hear it thp-thp-thhp-ing away, and iwconfig says: wlan0 IEEE 802.11-b ESSID:"linux" Nickname:"linux" Mode:Ad-Hoc Frequency:2.442GHz Cell: 02:06:80:E2:DE:5F Bit Rate:2Mb/s Tx-Power:2346 dBm Retry min limit:8 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Link Quality:0/92 Signal level:-69 dBm Noise level:-90 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 I set the ESSID at nothing (the way it used to be, just get what's out there) and tried setting it at a known ESSID, iwconfig seemed to be the same. I've also tried to set the connection type (ad hoc, etc) at automatic, still no beans. The part about link quality being 0/92 is patent nonsense, at least, I can confirm the wireless network is (a) working (b) has a massively powerful signal and (c) I hate to say it but the (ahem) windows XP laptop sitting next to my Suse laptop is using the same card (not the same model but the same CARD) perfectly fine. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I'd sure like to get this working. Thanks in advance, nick
