21/22 inch monitor recommendation / brickbats

Only relevant in so far as I want to know it would work perfectly with a recent SuSE version, but I'm looking for positive or negative comments on 21/22 inch CRTs people are using, I want it primarily for graphics work. Any faults with particular models gratefully collected. USB 20Gb Drive with a FAT32 and two NTFS partitions

Hi all. I have a SuSE 9.1 stock on a i586 box, and a Transcend 20Gb USB disk. the disk has three partitions, the first one is FAT32, and the second and third are NTFS. Even if FDISK sees the units, I'm only able to mount the first partition. I'm able to mount other NTFS hard disks I have in the same box with no trouble at all. any suggestion on what I may be doing wrong? Regards, Riccardo

Azureus questions?

I have two quick questions on Azureus. Is Azureus a complete BitTorrent client or do I have to also install BitTorrent or some other p2p bridge / software? What ports do I need to open in SuSEFirewall for Azureus to work? Neither of these things is covered in the docs and a search of the SuSE arcives yielded nada. Thanks john

Greetings to everyone! I have installed SuSE Professional 9.2 over an old one and I've made a selection of packages without including KDE or GNOME packages(only their utilites if it was needed by dependences) and installed Window Maker as a WindowManager. The question is: How to set autologon for specified user ???

Xmms-KDE Title problems

Hi All This one has been bugging me for a while now. I am using XMMS with the XMMS-KDE panel applet, and have noticed that the track title at the top of the applet is missing. My sound doesn't work any more, though I haven't *consciously* done anything to it. Keyboard shortcuts and switching desktops

How can I change the function of depressing the 'Shift+TAB' keys ie I do not want it to switch desktops but to rather go to the previous field in the KDE GUI? I have looked in the help and been through both Yast and the Control Centre and can't find the setting that allows me to change the keyboard behaviour from switching desktops to going back to the previous field. SuSE 9.2 install stops

Hi All! This weekend I decided to re-install my machine with my recently purchased copy of SuSE 9.2. During boot, it would stop at the hardware check unless I started the the "safe" boot. The installation process goes so far as to format the partitions and when it gets to the point of actually installing the software it seems to stop. What I get appears to be the installation screens, but both panels are empty. All I have is the clock on the screen. I can move it around with the mouse and click the "details" button, which does "something", but I have nothing on the screen. I can switch virtual screens and get to a shell prompt. Here, I can run top or ps and it appears as if the processes exist, but they do not appear to be doing anything. For example, in top, the two top processes are always X and swapper. None of the installation processes (yast2) seem to be doing anything. Also, I run df regularly and the disk usage doesn't change. All this leads me to believe that the installation is doing nothing. Looking at the messages on other console screens, I do not see anything that indicate a problem (as far as I can tell). Since the installation didn't work, I pulled out my copy of SuSE 9.0 and re-installed that, without a problem. So, my assumption is that this isn't a hardware problem, per se. Maybe the media is defective???? So, I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences or has an idea of how to increase the amount of information is displayed. I am grateful for any and all help.
