Webmail and SLOS / SLES?

Hiya all! Sorry about cross-posting, but it seems like noone is very interested in giving me a hint so I'll go for the hammer.. I'm running the RC-1 version of SLOS8 (enhanced SLES) and I'm curious about how I can incorporate webmail into the system, and WHAT webmail application to go for? The mail system is consisting of Postfix, Cyrus-IMAP, Cyrus-SASL all on top of the LDAP database that holds the users, so it's important that the webmail can work with all this. I was thinking maybe IMP on Horde would do the trick, but I've never tried to set it up... I don't even know if it's possible, or if it's a good solution? Please come with suggestions on this, not only IMP but also any other webmail package that supports the environment and one that's secure enough to put on a production system. Thank you! senmail+spamassassin

Hi all, I've done some searching on this, but I don't find anything that I can get working. I have fetchmail --> sendmail --> evolution. I want to stick spamassassin inbetween fetcmail and sendmail (or where ever it should go. Most of what I've found works with spamassassin and postfix, and the one document that looked thorough enough was in Russian. I've run spamd and spamc in every possible order/combination, but, going by my e-mail headers, it doesn't seem to do anything. I've also seen many references to procmail, and changes to be made to .procmailrc. But there's no such file in my ~ dir and I don't know what else should be in it or how to activate procmail So how do I do this? Thanks?

Firewall interpretation request

I couldn't for the life of me remember where to look at logs for the firewall, until just now. I counted 'one second' of these, and had 65 instances within one second. The *only* thing changing at each instance during the one second, was the DPT , which seemed to start at 1024 and go up to 1054, then start at 1024 all over again. So, what I'd like to ask of anyone who knows is... Starting with 'LEN' and going to 'URGP', what do each of those things mean (I think I understand the 'PROTO', heh)? I tried looking some of them up, but wasn't getting anything clear enough for an 'idiot' to understand. Why would only the 'DPT' change, and why only that range? Is/was this a DDoS? It sure didn't bother me any, since I could start a download or surf the web without any noticeable slowdown. Does this mean that SuSEFirewall2 was doing its job well? (I'm leaning strongly toward 'it did a fantastic job') Thanks if anyone finds these questions worth any answers. Updates on the Unofficial SuSEFAQ

He has done a a great job and fixed many typo's and spelling errrors. Since I am in the middle of relocation there has been a huge gap between the FAQ's on the mailing list and what the Unofficial FAQ is providing. I will try to catch up the missing FAQ's in the following weeks hopefully before I move to Stuttgart where unpacking will start :-( The subproject for the SuSEfirewall2 manual will also be updated to cover the changes in the latest version. NFS filesystems do not mount on boot!?!

Hello, I have placed nfs mounted directories in fstab and noticed that they are not mounted during boot. It seems that fstab is processed before networking starts however, shouldnt NFS entries still be processed at some point during boot??? The last line from my fstab: server.mydom.com:/export/test /mnt/dir nfs defaults,ro 0 0 Note: 'mount -a' works correctly and mounts all nfs filesystems manualy. Hi, While installing SuSE 8.2 on my wife's machine through http install, the package update fails to initialize with [Inst_Src:failed] error. Has anyone seen this before? This happens even with online-updates. What could be the problem? ? Grub

Hey Group; I havwe a friend with a Primary Master (hda) Win2K drive with the MBR on it. She has Linux grub on the Primary Slave (hdb) SuSE82. All worked great until drive hda died. How do you use grub to put the MBR on the hdb (which has been moved to hda). We did edit /etc/fstab, /boot/grub/menu.lst and attempted to run Yast2 > grub with no luck. Need Advice - Mail Server for small ISP

Hello, everyone. The firm I work for has a web development/hosting subsidiary. One of the services they offer is a POP3 mail server for some of the clients who host with us. It currently has around 250 domains on it, but the server is starting to feel the strain, so we are looking to replace it. It is currently an NT box, and we think a Linux box would be a more appropriate choice. However, my experience of setting up mail on Linux boxes has revolved around SLOX, and mulit-domain setups have been limited to aliases to the clients' main domains. So I am looking for advice on what to use to allow us to host multiple independent domains on a Linux mail server. Also, if anyone has any good FAQs or HOW-TOs, I would like to have them pointed out to me. I did do a Google search, but there was so much clutter it was impossible to find anything meaningful. The system also needs to be simple to administer, as the web guys are likely to have to do the day-to-day administration themselves. They're good web guys, but they aren't such hot admins. Maybe Webmin would be the answer to this part. Thanks, Stuart.
