Hey Group; I havwe a friend with a Primary Master (hda) Win2K drive with the MBR on it. She has Linux grub on the Primary Slave (hdb) SuSE82. All worked great until drive hda died. How do you use grub to put the MBR on the hdb (which has been moved to hda). We did edit /etc/fstab, /boot/grub/menu.lst and attempted to run Yast2 > grub with no luck. Since I just had to do this myself. As root, run "grub-install --recheck /dev/hdb" After it completes, you may have to edit /boot/grub/default.map and rerun "grub-install /dev/hdb" The other thing that I have done is to also put grub on a floppy, just in case. You can do that by running "grub-install /dev/fd0" Additionally, you want to do it to the floppy first, to ensure that everything is correct before writing it to the hard disk. Regards, Paul
