screen power mangament does not work (Gnome)

Hello Under 8.1 I had no problems. Now under 8.2, Gnome doesn't seem to manage to turn off my screen after a long period of disuse. I have blanking set up after 13 minutes and off after 40 minutes but the screen always has a screensaver and never turns itself off. Any ideas? TIA

The only files modified are find-req.pl, find-requires, and find-requires.perl. FYI Hey Group; Yesterday I started SuSE8.2 as a fresh load on this machine. I ran "SuSEconfig and it went through correctly. I did a DSL download of the Yast2 "Online Upgrade". It then ran SuSEconfig and hung at about 94% complete. Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.tetex... It stalled! I then ran /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.tetex with the same result. Failure! keyboard problems

Some time ago, I reported to the list that I had a problem using the keyboard in yast. Since then I come to realise that the problem was not that keyboard was not working but that I could change the focus from the control centre window on the left to respecting window on the right hand side that I wish to type the new values in. As you may have gathered from my statement, this is using yast2 through the KDE control centre. I realise that using yast2 directly or yast via the bash shell doesn't present this problem. I am using SuSE 8.2 and KDE 3.1 and the 2.4.20 kernel. While I am not personally bothered about this as I can work around it. This problem has now shown up on one of the PCs at work, after doing an online update for a colleague. Has anyone got any idea as to what's going on and how to fix it? I recall that recently there was a problem with gcc (I think) and yast2. I was wondering if that is responsible for the keyboard problems, as well. Any thoughts? Thanks Eddie

fatal error with usb controller on nforce2

Hi folks I have the mainboard AU13 with NForce2 chipset, installed suse pro 8.2 with latest kernel from suse's update site. My keyboard and mouse are both USB interface, which made me very frustrated. At first when installing the computer hangs as soon as starting hardware probing, so I borrowed a PS2 keyboard and disabled USB controller in BIOS to install it. But when I reenabled USB, it still booted without probing USB device. so I after I added the line "alias usb-interface usb-ohci" in /etc/modules.conf, everytime I "modprobe usb-ohci", the system hangs and even keyboard did not work. The USB keyboard cannot even work in grub that I cannot choose to boot windows with this keyboard. I am really frustrated with this problem, any hint would be appreciated. Cheers Liu
