Hi, Error 'XKP keymap' is, i beleive, something to do with remapping your keyboard keys. Not necessary. Upgrading Xfree might solve something. But it is a 70MB thing. I now have SuSE 7.2 with standard XFree. But the same problem arises with SuSE 7.3 and it's XFree. Also, remember that when installing Sax2 does not work. It also hangs te system. That is why i do not think it is XFree related. Resolution errors are duo to monitor capabilities. I doubt this to be the problem. Your card is detected ok, and AGP seems to be working. But there are several KDE error messages in the log file. There is also an error message regarding the XKP keymap. I would recommend you to upgrade your XFree to the newest version 4.2.0. This might work better with your card, because it has more Nvidia support than the 4.0.3. Just download these file from SuSE ftp and install with yast1: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.2.0-SuSE/ There are also resolution error messages in your log file. I have a problem with my kernel. I have a new kernel 2.4.17 from kernel.org but I have no idea what patches to apply to my new kernel and in what order for being able to boot with the splash screen ! Any idea from where to download that patches ? A step by step will be beautiful

System Warning Message

Recently I've noticed a system message window on my KDE desktop stating the following: " Sorry. Service /home/mauede/.kde2/share/applnk/Internet/Netscape.desktop is malformatted OK" If I click on the OK button the message closes. I can still use Netscape Navigator and Messenger. However I'd like to know what ig going on. I haven't change anything else than my desktop fonts. Thank you, Maura

Hi! I have a strange problem. I have suse linux pro 7.3 on my computer. Sometimes, during my work or when the computer is idle, the pc beep and completely freeze. Two lights on the keyboard are blinking and I must turn off and restart the computer. What is the source of this problem? help on NFS Installation

Hello, I have trouble installing 7.3 from NFS, I've managed to download the entire 7.3 distro from ftp.suse.com, so I have also put it on an NFS server. Initial installation procdures do well since i can access the NFS server and basic installation (partitioning,mount points etc), not until I've selected the packages and start to install. The error is that it cannot find the CD1 installation. my directory is /NFSSERVER/suse/7.3/ so I searched the suse.com database and it said for 7.3 nfs installations try to put the contents on (i created) CD1 directory. But the entire distro I downloaded is only on 1 directory so when the menu for the location of the cd1 directory pops up it said there's no CD1 contents on my /NFSSERVER/suse/7.3/ also tried /NFSSERVER/suse/7.3/cd1 (i created the cd1 directory and transferred entire contents) Anyone have suggestions on NFS installations without the CD heirarchy just the entire contents like the DVD? thanks. chris __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sound Card Configuration

Hello Everyone; I seem to be having trouble configuring my sound card. I have a Dell OPTIPLEX computer with a built in sound card. Yast2 finds the following card: 82820 820 (Camino 2) Chipset AC'97 Audio Controller. So it seems to detect the card correctly. But when I click on the test button, there is no sound. Can anyone guide me in the right direction on getting my sound card configured. Thanks! Respectfully; Bob
