For years, I've been using a screen-capture and bit-map edit program called "XV", first on Unix and lately on Linux. I don't suppose that the "xv" you mention is related in any way? Now that I think of it, I've probably seen mention of "xv" in other contexts (when setting up stuff in Linux), and ignored it because I thought it referred to the XV that I know. Hmm. When running ps -ax I see a process -:0 Does somebody know what this is? Does it have to do with X or am I hacked?? TIA L1

nfs cdrom

font gone wild in SuSE7.3

sorry about the attachement, I had membership issues initially... In installed SuSE 7.3 on an Inspiron 4000. Everything went great, cruised through the updates, installed and configured servers, et al. Then, all my fonts went to crap and things like the terminal look horrid (serif book fonts) and I can't seem to figure out how to get my original system fonts going again. I was tweaking a lot of stuff quickly, and one of the things I did was check "anti-alias" fonts somewhere, probably in the control center. NY Times site broken in Konqueror?

was away for a week, went to NY Times site today & none of the links to articles work in Konqueror...they work in Netscape so I assume the Times has done something Konqueror doesn't like.
