[SLE] logging in to OpenSshd

Hello, we have some hosts including Suse running Ssh and a Suse box with OpenSsh. When trying to login to the one with OpenSsh from anyware after entering the password the following message appears: login: No such file or directory Connection to host closed. Logging in from any host including the one with OpenSsh to any one running Ssh works. I've just upgraded to openssh-1.2.3-12.i386.rpm. Any ideas? Dose anywhone know which OpenSsh this is? As far as I know the one from openssh.net depends on OpenSsl. But the openssl package is not installed. [SLE] Lilo

Hi! I have a little problem,for a few weeks ago,and I try to forget it,but it doesn't work.Maybe someone could help me,with my problem. I try build a new kernel,2.2.15,and everything works perfect.But at the end,when I type in zlilo,it was stop.It said something like my lilo was not on the first partion. I now I have a strange partion right now,and maybe I need to try clean it up.I have hdb5 and hdb7,I guess.It said so,when I shut it down,that it unmount hdb5 and hdb7.I think I use hdb6 as a swap.But I want to know,what I have on hdb1 to 4.Is it possible? Hello, Like it was said below, the option "enable/disable" can be found in yast, under the base network configuration. Yast -> Sytem Administration -> Network Configuration -> Network Base Configuration You will then have a configuration screen. On the left will be device numbers, 0-3. Your 0 will already be there. Toggle to device 1 -> F5 to select "ethernet" -> F6 to configure IP address -> F4 to activate - F10 to save and exit. Then SuSEconfig will run. After that do: /sbin/init.d/network restart and you should see your new device come up. If not, it's time to look at the files /etc/rc.config and /etc/conf.modules. Good luck, Ron --- "B . L . Hello, The lx_suse is the source kernel rpm. When you install it : rpm --nodeps --fors -iU ls_suse.rpm It will move your /usr/src/linux to /usr/src/2.2.14-whatever, and then install a 2.2.16 directory linked to /usr/src/linux. Then, to use the kernel, you have to compile it, same as any new kernel. Please read the SuSE documentation, and make sure you have backed up the old kernel, and even made a boot disk before you go any further. You also may want to just download the binary kernel to make things easy on yourself. I did that one too, and it was quite painles. [SLE] Exec from cdrom

Hi I'm trying to execute oracle 8i file "runInstaller" from the cdrom and it allways gives me a permission denied message. [SLE] Suse 7.0 + Xinerama problems

Hi, at last, I got to update my desktop-machine to SuSE 7.0... and I've been confronted with some nasty problems. I've got 2 graphic controllers in my machine, an ATI Rage Pro and a Matrox MGA card. It ran just great in my old configuration -- with SuSE 6.3 + XFree 4.0 + KDE 1.1.2, in Xinerama configuration. The exact problem is, that there's nearly no X application able to start in this configuration under SuSE 7.0. KDE2 stuff hangs at startup, spitting with messages like KDE detected X Error: BadGC (invalid GC parameter) 13 Major opcode: 59 KDE detected X Error: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) 9 Major opcode: 68 and nearly any other windowmanager/environment just dies silently -- any but the icewm. All gtk++ applications die at startup, dumping core (they are running perfectly in the non-xinerama multihead setup). Clues, workarounds, anybody? [SLE] cdrecord -multi not working?

Hi! I am trying to create a multi session cd's - first you only burn some amount of data on cd - but not enough to completelly fill it, than, you can add some more data to it untill it is full. Well this doesn't work for me - I tried it the following way: created an iso image of 610MB in size with mkisofs -r -J -o my_iso.iso /some/filedir and than burned it to cd with cdrecord like this: cdrecord -multi -v speed=4 dev=0,0,0 -data my_iso.iso That part works ok. Than I created another 29MB iso file - myiso1.iso with the same command: mkisofs -r -J -o myiso1.iso /some/filedir29MBofsize and tried to burn it on cd with cdrecord: cdrecord -multi -v speed=4 dev=0,0,0 -data myiso1.iso Cdrecord correctly recognized only > 30MB on the cd and burned the second iso there. But when I mount the cd-rom, the second iso (or the file on the second iso) is nowhere to be found :( I don't know if I am doing this the right way, but the man page wasn't verry specific about it. [SLE] adding a secondary router to route.conf

I have a network where my SuSE 6.4 box can use one of two routers to get to the internet. To add to the mix, the two different routers are accessable through two different NIC's. How do I setup the router.conf so that if the primary router is not working, the secondary is used?
