[SLE] IPL 6720 tape drive

Picked up an IPL 6720 10/20GB 1/2"CRT SCSIDIFF EXT Tape drive from a liquidator today for $5.00. along with a box full of tape cartridges. I believe it was used to back up data coming off an AS 400. [SLE] Unreal Tournament

Hello everybody, I just got the retail version of Unreal Tournament to work and it was no piece of cake. But now it works beautifully and is a very fun game. So if anyone else on this list is looking to install this game (note, the demo version has none of these problems) there are two things you must do: 1. Mount the CD on /mnt/cdrom -- Any other mt point WILL NOT work 2. Modify the install script to read: #!/bin/bash1 instead of #!/bin/bash For some reason the install script needs an older version of bash which fortunately comes with SuSE 6.3 and is called bash1 After these two things everything installed well. [SLE] STILL fussing with laptop

I'm STILL, for the third or so day, trying to get SuSE to run right on my friend's laptop. The latest problem is on bootup, I'm getting "error while executing /sbin/route add default gw 134.x.x.x." So, I went into /etc/route.conf and commented out the line with the default gateway address. I'm not getting the error anymore, but I'm still not able to connect it to the network. With that line uncommented, it seems to load the card without incident. Previously I compiled a 2.2.14 kernel with Card Services 3.1.12. The procedure I used to make the kernel is: make xconfig make dep make clean make bzImage make modules make modules_install depmod -a Then I compiled CS 3.1.12 and booted the new kernel. It's a Digital HiNote VP725 P200MMX with 96MB RAM. The network card is a 3com 3c589_cs (used for a network install and worked fine before we installed the new version of CS. Problem before was that it wouldn't see the other slot.) It is in slot 0. Slot 1 holds an Adaptec APA-1480 SlimSCSI card. Any help, once again, would be appreciated.
