from inetd.conf: #ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd wu.ftpd -a #ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd proftpd ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd in.ftpd I can't find an ftp log anywhere. KMB080 to SuSE Support. CC to mailing list. Hi. Have upgraded GIMP to 1.1.14 from 1.1.11 (the one on the SuSE 6.3 CD) from the SuSE ftp site. Have the libgimp also from the SuSE site. Now xscanimage will not run: Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkmain.c: line 534 (gtk_main_quit): assertion 'main_loops != NULL' failed. I have installed SANE, and libgimp again from the SuSE rpm's. Can you help? Hi! I am trying to write a script with dialog, and I can't seem to get it working. I don't know what stderr is (that's where the output of dialog is supposed to go). [SLE] icewm toolbar config

Hi folks, I've been playing with icewm lately. I figured out how to add buttons to the tool bar, but I haven't been able to figure out how to choose which icon the buttom will display. I have a feeling that it is set in the winoptions file but I'm not certain of this and I certainly haven't figured out the syntax. [SLE] still having ident problem

hey, several months ago i had a problem with not being able to connect to irc servers.... then i upgraded to SuSE 6.3 and for awhile i could connect, apparently i've changed something unknowingly, because now i again cannot connect to irc servers...... i get a reply from the servers saying: **Connecting to port 6667 of server irc.efnet.net **Looking up your hostname.... **Checking Ident **Found your hostname **Got Ident response **Closing Link:207.0.205.157(You are not authorized to use this server) **Connection closed from irc.efnet.net:Remote end closed connection **Unable to connect to server irc.efnet.net i checked the ip# in my /var/log/messages and it is the ip# the isp assigned during login.......i don't think it is an isp problem as i have tried both of my isp's with the same results, also i have tried many irc servers with the same results. i see there is a ident.conf file in /etc, i haven't changed anything there, it is as Yast installed it..... ppp works flawlessly otherwise...... [SLE] mod_php-3.0.15 failed to load

Hi, I saw a new mod_php-3.0.15 and installed it. when I restarted apache, it failed with following: Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/libphp3.so into server: libpq.so.2.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I know libpq.so is part of PostgreSQL but I didn't get this error before! I have libpq.so.1.1 (libc5). BTW, is the new RPM bug fixed? [SLE] 2 .xmodmap files effective at the same time?

Hi all, I am wondering if you could help me with this problem... Here it is: in my home directory I have2 .xmodmap files that I've built with xkeycaps. The first one is ~/.xmodmap-personnal, which is my basic keyboard layout, based on the US-English layout + some special features to get Spanish and German characters. This layout is loaded in my ~/.cshrc. The second one is ~/.xmodmap-cf, which is exactly the same as the first one, except that it's based on the French Canadian keyboard layout, with all the special features.... Now I've been working on computers for 10 years now, and always used a US keyboard and LaTeX for word processing. But recently, and for the next 2 months, I had to use Star Office for some reasons, and Excel too, and I need the French Canadian layout. Right, I just got to load the .xmodmap-cf to get it working. I've created a little CShell script, to load xmodmap-cf, start Star Office and then reload the former one when exiting Office. #!/bin/csh xmodmap ~/.xmodmap-cf; /home/MYUSER/Office51/bin/soffice; xmodmap ~/.xmodmap-personnal By doing this, the French Canadian layout is "system-wide" effective, in every other shells and xterms already opened. That's the tricky part of the whole story that I don't like. I simply can't use this layout to work in other xterms. I need my English keyboard! I'm too confused... Is there any way to prevent the script to load xmodmap-cf for all the system?
