Seems alot easier than my solution. [SLE] setting up printer, where to start???

networking, always enjoyed it, let it be with modems at first, or now days with NIC's. Printers, hate them, always have! But I have to learn how to deal with printers in the world of Linux... I have the Epson 850n. For those of you that don't know, it is a network printer. The onl connection any of my computers have to it is via the NIC built into the printer. I have never setup a printer in Linux, or any UNIX for that matter. The first Linux box, named roses, I would also like to get setup as the print server for all machines, both UNIX and Windows. Samba is already running on roses so she can be a file server. I figure that once I am able to print from roses to the Epson 850n, setting up Samba should be real simple. The two things I don't understand are this: How do I configure roses to know that there is a printer on the network (TCP/IP) in which it can print to? [SLE] 2 x-servers running paralell?

hi all, i would like to use 2 graphiccards in one pc, one is a matrox millenium mga 2064W rev 1 and the other one is a ati mach64. both work fine on their own with the provided drivers. now, what would happen, if i were to bootup with both cards in? total boot failure or will just one card work. Hi, Oddly enough when I try to launch kmail this evening I get an error message " server is ready - message sent " and kmail does not launch. I realise this may well be a K thing and not a suse thing, but any suggestions anyone. [SLE] I tried Netscape 4.72 (56 bit security version)

and found that it seems to hang pretty much where 4.70 hung. I tried several times to download the 128 bit security version but neither the http nor the ftp netscape servers would ever respond, so I installed the 'communicator-v472.x86-unkown-linux2.2' version. The one thing I've noticed, that is different from 4.7, is how 4.72 responds to a website it will hang on. On sites that it will connect with, a 'Done' message appears first, then a msg about 'starting java', then a pause, and then the web page shows. On sites where a hang will occur, the site starts displaying before any messages are displayed and about 10% into displaying the first graphic Netscape hangs. So, it seems that the 'contrl-alt-esc' key sequence is still handy to remember, and don't forget to delete the ~,./netscape/lock file...
