[SLE] Tape Backup Drive

I am looking into getting a SCSI tape backup drive. Checking the SuSE hardware data base, it lists only the HP Colorado Tape Drive as being fully supported. Is any one using another brand of tape drive that works? I am looking for one that can be installed and not have to do any hacking to get it working. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. [SLE] mess up with lilo

hi cracks, heres one for you. or maybe it's simple and I am stupid: my board does not get along with lilo. how do I get rid of it? (not the board, because I've paid for it) I tried overinstalling nt, but it does not come up after the reboot, because lilo is still there. so how can i clean up the bootsector ? PacBell uses Staic IP's since around January I believe here in the Bay Area. The change was for the "home" or Basic account. Yes, many of us still have the single IP accounts with the external Alcatel DSL modem. You will now get an Internal in most cases, or can upgrade to the 5 IP account for $79. I use a smaller, local ISP which has a nice attitude about things like NAT, Linux, etc. I have never been told, even when I considered PacBell at one point, it would be dhcp. Since I don't use PacBell for ISP, they arrived, hooked up the line and tested it, found out I use Linux and left as soon as they had a green light on the device. I had a Linux server ready to go at that point. I use Debian and SuSE for things but wanted a truly small Linux installation so went with Debian Potato. Hello all, I'm getting PacBell DSL installed on Friday and wanted to take a poll of any current PacBell users out there. On their website and per their tech support they use DHCP for home users but everyone I've talked to so far has gotten a static IP. Can anybody give me feedback on whether they have a static IP with PacBell or not for the home user plan? [SLE] apsfilter needs printer reset

This is a note both to the SuSE list and to SuSE feedback. There's a problem with apsfilter that isn't hard to repair: there needs to be a way to issue a reset command for a printer no matter what type of file it's being sent. There's a way to do this for the ``raw'' printer but not, for instance, if apsfilter is called to print a PostScript file. I recommend that each printer have two additional customizations (which can, of course, be null): a reset-before and a reset-after. These commands would, as the names indicate, be issued before and after each job, respectively. That would, among other things, solve the problem that PostScript printers with duplexing capability get the last page of one job duplexed with the first page of the next job if the first job has an odd number of pages. However, I expect that there are many other situations in which this resetting capability is needed. And it's almost always a function only of the printer, not of the job type. [SLE] Suse on micro channel architecture?

Anybody running Suse 6.3 on a micro channel (PS/2) machine? My neighbor's company replaced about a dozen server 95 machines and gave them to me just for hauling them away. Hi there, It's obviously not possible to use the 'mv' command file-systems. What's the most commonly used method to move files through file-systems; the 'cp' command, making a tarball?
