If it by chance does work, the information is garbled and the windows fat gets messed up. If I access a windows partition on another computer it works perfectly but not on my own compter. What can I do to get everything to work again. After umounting and mounting /dev/hda5 I can read the HD but garbled. Here are the Error Messages from the Xconsole. Typing "startx" seems to bring up 3.3.6. The readme from SuSE tells one on how to install it but that is it. All this effort to try and get my ati all-in-wounder 128 pro card to work. I tried "XFree86" which seemed to load 4.02 but all i get is blank screen. do i have to type something else to get all the other stuff to show on the screen. Hi FTP can accept both anonomous and user connections... what are the risks in allowing user connections? Trojans were my main worry with the higher ports... I can easily find out what ports halflife use, but what ports does 'real' ftp use? I know 20 and 21 are used, although when I tried to downoad via ftp at one point, I saw a very high port being used (over 60000). Am I right in assuming that this port will change all the time? If so, is there a specific range that the port may be? Sorry about the non-wrapping... I'm using... dare I say it...
